Very poor service, but reasonable pricing, good food, nice atmosphere
The location is lovely with nice atmospheric decorations. Reasonable pricing for the portions.
I had the chicken souvlaki (âŹ15) which was decent but a bit on the dry side. My partner ordered something different and loved it, so the food quality seems inconsistent.
The service though... that's where it fell apart for us. When we arrived, several staff were out front - seemed like plenty of coverage. Once seated in the back, they seem to have disappeared and all out of sight. The restaurant was about a quarter empty, not busy at all.
We were given the wrong order initially from a confused looking waiter.
Throughout the meal staff only came by to deliver food or clear tables, but never to check on us. Getting their attention became nearly impossible from that part of the seating area. We noticed other tables around us were having the same problem too.
We wanted dessert but given the poor service, we decided to just get the bill and look elsewhere. The bill process took over 30 minutes.
They brought complimentary desserts and raki (desserts were delicious, raki was weak), but still no bill. We eventually walked to the counter to pay, where the waiter said he had it ready but clearly hadn't brought it over
It's hard to tell if this is their normal approach or just inattentive service.
Tips: Request a table or front, ask for your bill when they clear plates, or go straight to the counter. The nice ambiance unfortunately didn't make up for the...

Seated outside, amidst the picturesque surroundings, we began our meal with refreshing grapefruit Aperol spritzes that set the perfect tone for what was to come. The Cretan salad, our appetizer of choice, was a symphony of fresh flavors, showcasing the best of local produce and culinary expertise. For our mains, we indulged in the rhetorical catch of the day â a fried cod in squid ink tempura with beetroot dressing and fries, which was a tantalizing fusion of textures and flavors. Additionally, the Cretan Carbonara stole the show with its creamy richness and tender smoked pork, transporting us to culinary heaven with every bite.To round off our exquisite meal, we savored the complimentary raki and indulged in a decadent dessert that left us feeling utterly satisfied. The attentive service and idyllic ambiance only added to the overall experience, making it a lunch to remember. In conclusion, dining at this restaurant was a true culinary adventure, where every dish was crafted with care and expertise, and every moment was filled with warmth and hospitality. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience in Chania.

Our dining experience at this restaurant in Chania was disastrous. We had dinner here on our first night on holiday in May 2024, excited to try some local cuisine. We ordered a green salad, lamb shoulder, and boureki, expecting fresh and flavourful dishes. Initially, the presentation was decent, and the flavours seemed promising. But soon after our meal, both of us began to feel unwell. What followed was four days of food poisoning, which completely ruined our holiday. Instead of exploring the beautiful sights of Chania, we were confined to our accommodation, battling unpleasant symptoms. It was a very distressing experience, and the excitement and plans we had for our trip were overshadowed by this unfortunate incident.
We understand that food safety issues can occur, but this incident suggests a serious lapse in hygiene standards at this restaurant. We hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses any potential health risks to prevent other guests from having a similarly dreadful experience.
We cannot recommend this restaurant given the health risks we...
