The owner isn’t serious and is only thinking of money. So when they robbed me in his place he didn’t even say ‘sorry’. Instead he didn’t even notice me, didn’t want to talk to me. The dorm doesn’t have the pool as one of the pix suggests. Also the owner lets people (his friends) stay in the dorm and that ‘friend’ of his robbed me. Don’t put anything valuable in the lockers as they simply don’t work! The robber robbed a tourist before, I was another one so, the owner let him do this so he will do that again. So, if you want to lose your money for a person who just robs people and have fun (for your money) go there, if not, choose another hostel, which is brand new, a bit more (just a bit) pricy but you are safe there. Instead of this person who brags he is a policeman(because the owner also works as a police officer)and acts completely opposite, you deserve something better. Of course if you chose the room upstairs (more pricy) he’d even shake your hand when you leave. Very selfish and money-oriented owner. Oh, when you want to use AC, he’s upset as it costs too much, so when you use it he’d come inside and turn it off even if the temps inside were close to 40° inside. Plus the place is very dirty, the bathroom-put on your flip flops or you may catch something bad! Stay away from...
Read moreThe host was very nice and welcoming. He was sitting near a building and gave us full instructions when we arrive. A room has one double bed and two bunk beds we didn't need but it's ok. Balcony was small but it is a building in old town so it is usual. We had everything we need for our 2 nights stay (also a small kitchen to prepare food but we didn't use it). It is our secound time here and I am not dissapointed. I could recommend this place. Location is perfect and a price is one of the best comparing with other. So if you need something basic for your overnight - go for it. I believe we will come back one day.||||Show curtains - it is a problem in a whole Crete. Often there are no curtains but if it is.. Still a problem because it is too short! And watter still flows on the floor. Also shower was very small but for our short stay it was ok. Of course, bars and tavernas on the streets are noisy until late night but it a old town!! It is normal. Very strange wardrobe - I mean its position is too high and shorter man can have a problem to use it. But, as I said - it is basic, a price is reasonable, host is very nice, so there is still many...
Read moreThis used to be a hotel and was recently re-designed to become a hostel - so filter the reviews from before mid 2020, they are not from the same ambiance anymore. Anyway: the hostel is in a small 4 stage old building right in old town, perfectly located (cute street, btw), with three dorms (up to 8 people each, bathrooms inside the room (one or two, depending on the floor)) and one kitchen for everybody. Two dorms have tiny cute terrasses (photo). No commom area other than the kitchen (which is functional, but small for gathering - anyway, not that social kind of hostel.. but they do put some tables outside to allow for interactions) Owner is very kind and helpful. Price is great. Location is perfect. Beds were clean, they provide you with clean sheets and towels. Both hot water and air conditioning worked well. Wi-Fi is fast. No bad smells or...
