Sketi Glyka — Restaurant in Municipality of Chania

The pastries are really nice and good quality. However, we went there around 10 pm, waited inside for at least 5 mins, but more like 10, i asked for two pastries. The guy there said that if i want to eat here, i should sit down instead and remember the name of the pastries to tell the waiter. They could have said this before we were waiting there for so long. In most restaurants they come and ask you before letting you wait. After we sat down, we didn't get a menu or anything for another 5 mins, then the waiter brought some water, but no menu for the pastries. After finally we could order (remembering the names of the pastries shown inside), we had to wait another 10 mins for the two small pastries to be put on a plate and to be brought to our table. In some other restaurants, they cook you a whole meal under 10 mins. Here, there was no cooking involved, the pasteleria wasn't busy and we were waiting for 25 mins for two small pastries. Normally 2 scoops 4,50€ + 1 scoop 2,50€ = 7€ What I had to pay? 9,50€ !!!! Why? Because they asked us to eat there? He did not say that it was with 30% extra!!! I am at the beginning of my trip but I will certainly not come back !!! Tourist trap !

Update: I did not ask to be seated, you offered us to seat or to take away. Never the waiter said that the prices are different if we agree with his proposition. I did not make any mistake with my review. Be clear with the customers that s all. Your job is to inform the customers correctly! « If you agree it will be +30% extra charges… you agree? » Is it so difficult ?

Holy! This place is good! In a small alley, you will find one of the best pastry shop in Chania. They have western styled pastries, traditional baklava and gelato.

We have had a full chocolate square, a cheese tart and a chocolate and chili pastry along with one baklava. Everything was awesome, especially the chili cake, it was very surprising in a good way (and be warned, it really is spicy!), the cheese tart had very light cheese taste but the caramel was nice and the baklava was strong, not too sweet but had a tons of nuts.

We tried two flavors of gelato, they were intense, extremely smooth, was better than some...
