Estia Filoxenia Hydra — Hotel in Municipality of Hydra

Estia is the Greek goddess of hearth and home, and she would be proud of this guest house which has taken her name. We spent a wonderful week here and would strongly recommend it as a great place to stay in Hydra. The view of the port and town is magnificent - we spent hours watching the constant activity in the busy harbour with, as an optional extra, a grandstand view of two candidates' rallies for election to mayor. The room itself is very modern and stylish, everything works, the bed very comfortable and the breakfast bar very well provided with fresh fruit and breakfast needs, topped up daily along with room clean and service. Being right on the waterfront, pretty well everything is close at hand - you couldn't be more in the centre of things. To top it all off, the people who own and run it are really nice human beings, helpful and friendly without getting in your way. The best a stay can ever get. Owners, Tatiana and Grigoris, have created a heaven in the middle of another heaven called Hydra. The apartments are located at the heart of the harbor, with magnificent view and impeccable facilities. There is full kitchen with an induction stove, a refrigerator, a kettle and a Krups brand Nespresso machine. Tatiana and Grigoris were more than kind to fill the kitchen basket with fruits, snacks and tea bags; and when they heard I was a coffee enthusiast, they did not hesitate to provide me with extra strong Nespresso capsules (Sorry for the overconsumption guys, I will make up to you next time 😃)

The cleanliness of the room is beyond description and the Korres brand cosmetics were sure a pleasant detail. It was one of the best sleeps on a vacation for me.

Top location, modern and wonderful host We stayed 3 nights (21-23 April 2023) in a Deluxe Double Room with balcony and sea view Tatiana and Grigoris are the most charming, helpful and professional hosts we have ever encountered! They have recently renovated their small hotel which is modern, stylish and functional. Included is a generous breakfast/snack hamper.

This is our second extended stay on Hydra and in our opinion Estia is in THE best location on Hydra: it is within a minute's walk away from the Piraeus (Athens) ferry and the hotel's balcony is a wonderful location from which to watch all the activities of the harbour front, while being far enough away from the busiest and noisiest area.
