The bulk of accommodations in Hydra are within a couple hundred meters of the port. The rooms at the Kirki are no exception. Not ALL but most are an easy walk from the ferry. Check the description carefully though as there are some that will require a bit more work and possibly the help of several mules if you are packing some luggage.||||The Kirki is a little bit harder to find due to an apparent lack of signage off the port. Most hotels and pensions have signs pointing you down one of the several narrow pedestrian streets that lead away from the port, We did not see one for the Kirki but after a minor false start found it with no problem.||||Using the town's prominent clock tower as a landmark you will find the Kirki by heading up the narrow street immediately before the clock tower as you walk from the ferry landing.||||We picked the Kirki for location, the value and the availability of two rooms with balconies for ourselves and our traveling companions. The rooms were small but comfortable. The split-AC system provided a cool quiet retreat from the afternoon heat in July. Sitting on the balcony was like being perched in a duck blind to watch the busy goings on of this charming port town.||||If your private perch wasn't interesting enough the port provides ample entertainment and local color. We watched a wizened old fisherman clean his catch and ultimately reward a patient and affectionate kitty. There was also a flotilla of matching sailboats filled with college girls heading out for a night on the town with the help of Jose and his tiny Zodiac. There were also several jaw dropping mega-yachts in port which the local store owner told us was a more and more common sight. ||||Our host at the Kirki was pleasant and helpful and even gave us precise directions to find Leonard...
Read moreLocation perfect, just a 4 min. walk from the ferry ,few steps from cafes and tavernas. Nice staff, beautiful and very clean room and bathroom, enough space for a couple. Cute little balcony with a good view of the town.Warm atmosphere, good bed, great wi-fi , overall a nice stay.We would stay there again. Comparing to other hotels on the island, it is a good value for money.

Read moreGreat hotel, very close to the port, and made very welcome by our host Dina. Easy to wheel our bags from the ferry to the front door (around five minutes). The room was small, clean and tidy, and a little balcony over the lane way was a real bonus. Opposite a little bar that could be a little noisy, but that was Saturday night and all over by midnight. I left something in the room when we checked out and Dina was straight on to it, posting it onto me the same day. Less than a minute to walk to the port. Clean bathroom and shower. Wifi was available in our room. Great stay in a great hotel (only six rooms in total!) in a...
