Klima Rooms — Hotel in Municipality of Kantanos-Selinon

The owner of Klima Rooms was incredibly helpful! We had been staying at nearby Virginia Studios, but their internet connection kept cutting out, so we decided to switch to Klima Rooms. Turns out, the day we were to check out of Virginia Studios was the same day we were hiking the Samaria Gorge, and so needed to leave at the crack of dawn, To help us out, the owner of Klima Rooms offered to pick up our luggage from our old hotel and bring it to our new room at Klima. Not only did that spare us haivng to get up even earlier that morning, but it was a truly wonderful thing being able to return (utterly exhausted from the calf-crunching 16km trek!), and simply go straight to our new hotel and find our bags waiting for us there. Other positives: no charge for AC use, there's handy bucket in the bathroom for doing handwash and clothesline on the balcony, and there were some simple refreshments waiting for us (orange juice, tea, melba...

Amazing little place in Paleochora! We had the top room which is a roof conversion. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed! Because it's a roof conversion, the bathroom is very small and the shower shares the space with the toilet. This was well explained to us before we booked and honestly it's fine! It's a trade-off as you also get the whole roof space to yourself with amazing views!

Location wise it's a 5' walk to the centre, but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet! There's also a very small beach alcove 2' away, and a great little cafe for breakfast next door. Parking is on the road.

One thing to note - Paleochora is very windy, so being a roof conversion you can hear the wind whistling outside and occasionally rattling the walls and roof. We personally love this, but it might not be for everyone.

Owners were very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this as a budget friendly, quiet...

Moin, bin seit gestern in den Klima Rooms. Zimmer ist super, breites beqeumes Bett, Fliegengitter (man kann mit offenenm Fenster schlafen). Das Bad modern, Dusche von Anfang an gleich warm. Wlan top.||||Klima Rooms befinden sich im ruhigen Gavdos Viertel, in der Nähe vom Anleger, neben dem The Water's Edge Cafe.||||Die Besitzerin grüsst einen immer mit dem Vornamen, auch bei der Ankunft.||||Kann die Klima Rooms wirklich empfehlen.||||Paleochóra ist ein gewachsener Ort mit ca. 2.000 Einwohnern, der das ganze Jahr bewohnt ist.||||Paleochóra ist der zweitwärmste Ort Griechenlands. 25C um Weihnachten ist deswegen keine Seltenheit. Der Ortskern befindet sich auf einer schmalen Landzunge die halbinselartig der schnell steil ansteigenden Südküste vorgelagert ist. Wegen dieser geografischen Lage befindet sich Paleochóra am sonnen reichsten Punkt der Insel Kreta.||||Paleochóra hat ein wunderschönes Hinterland, sehr viele kleine ursprüngliche Dörfer, sehr viele unterschiedliche Strände in der Nähe und bietet schöne Wanderungen, z.B. die E4-Küstenwanderungen....…||||Im Juli und August ist es in Paleochóra richtig voll - hab ich einmal im August 2008 erlebt. Man hat das Gefühl, ganz Paleochóra ist eine einzige Taverne. Die gefühlt 30 Tavernen haben alle ihre Tische draußen stehen und alle Tische sind voll.
