Meltemi Cafe — Restaurant in Municipality of Kantanos-Selinon

A nice place other than the chap clad in denim with glasses who seems capable of little or nothing ( cannot add up a bill, or make a serve a drink) who keeps picking a fight with one of the cooks/waitresses in public, as you eat. The argument appeared to be over us moving take away from a smoking regular who arrived and lit as we were choosing our food. The place tends to be run a a TV football viewing centre for key locals and our request to see something else last night went unanswered for 2hrs. We did eat after moving room but I wish we had not as it seemed to provoke an argument with a nice lady. Won't go back for sure which is a shame as it is...

Great location and good quality food. The waitress was lovely but sadly the service is otherwise abysmal with a wait of well over an hour for the food to arrive from the kitchen and the prices are inflated compared with the other places locally with sea bream being charged at €23 compared with around...

Nach ein paar Tagen in Paleochora hatten wir nun auch Frühstück im Water‘s Edge. Wir sind den Empfehlungen hier auf google gefolgt und leider ein wenig im die Irre geführt worden. Zuerst das Positive: das Cafe ist klein und süß und mit einem schönen Ausblick aufs Meer. Das Essen ist leider weit unter Durchschnitt im Ort. Wo andere mit liebevoll gemachtem, geschmackvoll zubereitetem Essen aufwarten, bekamen wir hier lieblos auf den Teller geklatschte Eier und gebratenen Schinken. Die Qualität des Essens war weniger als befriedigend, billige Zuckermarmelade und Kuchen der nach billigem abgepacktem Kuchen schmeckte. Ich denke, für jemand der britisches basic Frühstück mag, ein guter Ort, für alle anderen gibts wahrscheinlich viel bessere Frühstücks...
