Edem Garden Residence — Hotel in Municipality of Mykonos

Stayed here last week and booked two of the same (studio) rooms for the same price. One was decent and had a balcony and lots of natural light - no complaints. The other one however could only be described as a bunker. It was not the studio room that we had booked - the only light came from one tiny window in the kitchen area, there were no windows in the bedroom or the bathroom. With the multiple power cuts we experienced this became dangerous as it was pitch black darkness. The room was completely unfinished, the walls were still bare concrete and the only furniture was a bed and bedside tables (no lamps) and an extra bed that we didn’t ask for. There was no air con in the bedroom. The sink had weird orange staining and the shower ceiling had mould and we experienced points of no water. The wardrobe had multiple patches of damp. There was no full length mirror despite the other room having one and also a larger bathroom mirror with a window. We were shoved in a shady cove right next to reception and on two occasions opened the door to people sat on our porch area, although we weren’t able to make much use of this anyway as there was a huge extractor fan blowing hot air directly at the seating. I explained to the manager that we weren’t happy and this wasn’t the room that we had paid for and she shrugged her shoulders at me and couldn’t offer any explanation as to why we had been put in an unfinished room. With a morning spent searching for an alternative hotel with a spare room (to no avail) I had to call jet2 who sent a rep out and offered us a small compensation. We checked out in the morning and our flight was in the evening, we had to change outside the reception and there was no toilet we could use. We stay in Platis Gialos area every year and this was just laughable. I was in Greece this summer in July and my initial reservation was basically fraud.||I used booking.com to book what i thought was a decent place for the price. $722.49 for Edem Garden residence. I was picked up from the airport with what I thought to be a free shuttle but the entire time it was a sales pitch. When you haven't slept for 24 hours and the woman Joanna wouldn't stop pitching activities to do its a bit frustrating.||Then the accommodations were a smelly room and the bed was horrible, squeaky to be exact. I tried to find the staff but there was no one in the office and no staff on site. A Motel 6 is like the Ritz compared to this place.||I managed to book Kamari hotel and went there for a couple days and an airbnb after. Both were Exceptionally better. ||I have asked to be refunded by both Azzuro Travel and Edem Garden Residence and this has not happened. ||Instead Azzuro Travel has said I'm threatening them when I mentioned writing a review. Joanna claims the “LEGAL DEPARTMENT” has been notified. This Department is Non-Existent. ||This is not the way to treat someone that comes there for a vacation. Visited here with my mum, requested on booking a twin room, and low floor, unfortunately we were taken to high level and double bed, but assured that the next day we would be moved. |Stayed in room 9 on the first night which was so comfortable, huge king size bed. |Second room was room 1 which had another large bed; and single bed in. ||The apartments are done to such a high standard, decorated modernly. |Furniture is comfortable, and the small kitchenette has everything you need. |The only thing the rooms could do with is a mirror, as the only one is in the bathroom. ||The only negative point I would say is that the bathroom in room 1 doesn’t have a window and can get a big stuffy and could easily get damp. ||Loved our stay at these apartments, only a 5 min walk down to the beach, and the restaurants. |Note that the apartment is up a slight hill, and to get to the main road where bus stop is, also is very steep! |Bus is 2€ into town; and takes...
