We have just enjoyed a wonderful 4 night stay, and the ONLY reason I’m not affording this delightful hotel 5 stars is because of the bathroom in our room. It’s such a shame, because in every other aspect we’ve been more than satisfied. From what I understand, some rooms have new bathrooms and some don’t, so I’m not sure if you could request a room with an updated bathroom when you book? For us if wasn’t too much of an issue, but for anyone of a larger size, you’d have trouble getting in the bathroom, and could potentially come a cropper clambering into the bath to shower behind an old fashioned shower curtain!! Apart from that, we couldn’t have been happier! The staff are so lovely - warm, friendly, courteous and helpful. The pool area is excellent and the guy running the bar is an absolute sweetheart! Nothing is ever too much trouble. The views are outstanding and it is kept so clean and tidy, with fresh towels provided each time. Equally, from the inside bar and restaurant - absolutely stunning views. Prior to my visit I’d read so much stuff about needing to book a table at a rooftop bar to watch the sunset, but when you’re staying at this little gem of a hotel, you absolutely DO NOT need to go anywhere else!! We didn’t eat at the restaurant but from what we could see, the food looked excellent and the diners seemed very happy! We did thoroughly enjoy our daily breakfasts - there was so much on offer of both the sweet and savoury variety, and the longest breakfast ‘session’ I’ve experienced in a hotel before: from 8am until 12noon! So if you’re an early riser and like to go for a walk/run when you get up, you can, safe in the knowledge you won’t miss out on any food! Regarding location - for us, it couldn’t have been any better. Being up the hill meant you had truly stunning views. Also, you’re not in the middle of the old town where partying goes on until the early hours, so it’s beautifully peaceful. We actually slept with our patio doors open all night and never got disturbed. However, what I would say - and I think it’s only fair to pre-warn potential new visitors - is that if you do have mobility issues or health problems, then you would struggle with both the location (steep hill climb back from old town) and the quirky, split level, amount of steps in the hotel. For us, it wasn’t an issue at all, and if you are fit and able bodied it’ll add to the charm and keep you fit whilst you stay! In summary, we LOVED our stay and if we return to Mykonos, we’d stay...
Read moreWe arrived at the Hotel on the 1st of June 2025. Our taxi brought us right to the door. |This was where we first discovered the steps. So many steps. I should have done my research better. ||I mentioned to reception that I struggle with steps, and was told the allocated room was 100 steps. I thought they were joking. Apparently not.||They offered us room number 67, which is next to reception and underneath the restaurant, snd next to the laundry room.. Which we would later find to be quite noisy. |The shower and taps were not in great shape. The shower doors barely closed, meaning we soaked the bathroom when we took a shower. The posing was peeling off in the window in the shower. Unsurprisingly as it got soaked every time. ||The room was quite large as it was a family room. Two futons and the main bedroom was inside this very stuffy glass box. Very strange set up. Not sure why the room was sectioned off like that. It was not a pleasant experience sleeping in there at all. |There were still steps up to the restaurant, and obviously back down again to the room. |I guess the hotel is built into the hillside, so steps are unavoidable. ||The pool area is about 60 steps up from reception. Well worth the trip though. The view is amazing and the pool area is lovely. The guy behind the bar in that area was a real sweet heart. Very friendly and attentive. An asset to the team I’d say. ||The breakfast was excellent. A great choice. Particularly if you like sweet cakes etc.. but the yoghurt and fresh fruit was in abundance. The scrambled egg was very good. So I was well fed. ||We dined in the restaurant on our last night. The food was excellent and we had just the best view over the old Port of Mykonos. ||If you struggle with steps, or walking on inclines, then this hotel is not for you. I really struggled walking down to the Port over two nights. No point getting a taxi, as it’s a 10 minute walk and taxis aren’t allowed in the port anyway. So no choice but to walk. ||It’s a lovely hotel, but because of the things I mentioned, I wouldn’t stay there again. If you’re more able bodied, then you will have a very...
Read moreI have traveled to many different countries around the world and stayed at grand 5 star hotels, but Mykonos View Hotel has definitely surpassed my expectations in terms of quality service. I can honestly tell a million stories about how each staff member in the hotel have contributed to elevating our experience at Mykonos, but I think one of the experiences that was most indicative of their dedication to helping guests is when one of my friends broke her arm after her ATV flipped over. The gentleman at the front desk mapped out different clinics she could go to that would be free for foreigners, and not only that, but Dimitrius, one of the hotel staff, personally helped repair the ATV we thought we would be heavily fined for; he fixed it so well it was as good as new. Everyone involved was very helpful, and each staff member was willing to answer questions about where we could go and how we could get there. At any moment in time when we looked like we needed help, a staff member would accommodate us as best they could. Gianni, the pool bartender, as well as all of the people working at the front desk were great references for nightlife, restaurants, and transportation. Even before we arrived, communication via email was incredibly fast, efficient, and easy, since almost everyone at the hotel speaks perfect English, and everyone is really honest and upstanding.
In terms of the food, I was surprised about how great the breakfast buffet and hotel restaurant was, especially because I am usually disgusted by buffets and hotel restaurants. In terms of the location, the island of Mykonos is really small, so everything is pretty close to each other. In fact, the hotel is only about 15 minutes from the airport, and Mykonos town is just a walk down the hill from the hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean, and there is a beautiful view overlooking the ocean. Over all, I was incredibly happy with my experience here, and I would definitely...
