We decided to spend the Greek orthodox Easter weekend at rethymno. We search for a hotel that offers an in suite jacuzzi. After some time of searching we found Omma Suites. They are at the historic old town of Rethymno, everything you want is within walking distance. Nearby there is public parking space that costs 5 euros for the whole day.
They inform us, because of the Greek Easter, reception won't be there at our arrival time, but they sent us 3 emails full of details of what we will possibly need in order to arrive at the suites. Everything was explained in detail. So we didn't have any doubt that it will be a single problem at our check in and indeed everything went smoothly.
As you will see at the photos, the room had everything you can want. Variety of amenities, free coffee, free tea, free bottle of water. Table with plates, glasses and knives, spoons, forks and even tool to open bottle of wine for example. Many electric sockets , near the table, near the bed in both sides.. usb ports too..
enough towels, bath robes, we had room with view to city.. but they have rooms with view to the sea which is really nice, I had the chance to see one of these rooms before the check out.
The only problem we had it was the breakfast, Easter Sunday it is public holiday for Greece. Omma Suites offer breakfast at a nearby cafeteria. Due to a misunderstanding or mis communication between the manager and the owner of this cafeteria, someone didn't inform that it would be close at that day. So when we went to have our breakfast it was closed. We contact the manager of Omma Suites we inform about this situation and after ten minutes, they inform us that indeed because of this special day the cafeteria won't open , but they didn't had any information in advanced from the owner of the cafeteria. So they offer us two things .. first of all it was discount at the price they we had agreed to pay.. plus another discount in our next visit.
Last but not least, our stay at Omma Suites was nice, we had a great time there. Despite the breakfast problem, we will definitely come back and this time we will choose the suites with view at the sea and the...
Read moreI stayed at Omma Suites for one night in April 2025. The service was truly magnificent: before my stay, I received several emails to ensure everything was prepared, including driving instructions and a list of restaurant recommendations. The check-in process was very smooth, and the receptionist was exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. After checking in, there also was a surprise know on the door, and there was the receptionist offering a complimentary bottle of white. Which was a super nice touch. The location was also perfect for exploring the old town.
The only thing that kept my experience from being a full five stars was the noise from the restaurants below my terrace. It’s a lively restaurant street, so some loud music is to be expected. However, I was a bit surprised that the sound carried through the windows as I tried to sleep.
Another small point: the automatic lights in the shower and toilet. When I got up at night, the lights turned on automatically and stayed on for a while before switching off. The light in the toilet wasn’t a problem, but because the shower has a glass wall facing the room (with only a thin curtain to cover it), the room would light up quite brightly for a number of minutes.
That said, the windows had excellent blackout curtains, which otherwise kept the room dark and blocked out the lights from the terrace (which you can’t fully turn off). These were just minor inconveniences in an overall wonderful experience, but good things to know if you're a light sleeper (I recommend bringing a pair of earplugs and a sleep mask just in case).
Thank you Omma for an amazing experience, I will be back if I happen to be...
Read moreWhat you see in the photos is absolutely true. The hotel was super clean and the sheets and towels smelled great. The outdoor jacuzzi (which was also very clean and disinfected) was a memorable experience for us, the staff and management were very sympathetic and attentive, accompanying us for our transfer and check-in to the hotel as we arrived on a Saturday night. Although the hotel didn't have a self-service restaurant, there was a restaurant very close by, where we were able to have delicious breakfasts every day. The hotel is in a very convenient location, with easy access to old town, the beach, restaurants and markets with a short walk. We enjoyed our stay very much and can...
