A horrible experience with the reservations department. We asked for three weeks in advance, to cancel our two-night stay at âŹ1,500 per night. Declined. We then asked for two weeks in advance, if we could simply move the dates. Also declined. No problem, if thatâs the policy.
But what followed when we called them to see if there was some type of other solution was unacceptable. No empathy, no curiosity, no basic decency. Just an instant lecture: âYou should read the cancellation policy next time.â âThis is your problem, not oursâ Not even a âSorry to hear that,â or âMay I ask what happened?â
We werenât asking for a free night. We were asking for help, well in advance, after an unfortunate situation. Instead, we were spoken to with a tone that was cold, unfriendly, and frankly, insulting.
This woman from reservations may not represent the entire hotel, but her attitude single-handedly ruined the experience before we even arrived. At these rates, hospitality should be a given. Instead, we were met with arrogance and a complete lack of grace.

Thank you for your reply.
As maybe not made clear enough âwe are not coming to your hotelâ because we run into a date emergency and needed some help with it, which we didnât receive from you. In fact we were treated rudely only for asking.
Because of this rude inflexibility we need to pay you an average months salary and get nothing in return. We are trying to convince friends to fly all the way over there and spend the nights with you on our behalf, it was mentioned that that was an option.
But for 90% sure you will end up with an empty room.
We asked this a month ago so if you would have just helped us with changing the dates Iâm sure you would have rented it out again.
So now besides the likely empty room you have 2 very disappointed and sad guests who you treated with arrogance and disinterest. (Whom could have been great ambassadors and promotors for your hotel if they liked you).
But no worries, at least you got our money for zero service in return. Well done, well played and may it be proof where your...
Read moreSo, we chose Echoes Luxury Suites(we stayed in the Grande Suite) for our holidays after a long period of searching for the best resort possible. And I have to say that despite the perfect view and the beautiful room, we left Oia, Santorini with a bitter taste. We stayed there for four nights and as days were passing by my sister was noticing several belongings of her missing. At the start it was a headband but it escalated quickly. It came to the point where she was missing several clothes, a swim suit and even USED underwear. It came as a shock because we have been in many great hotels the past 10 years as a family and it was the first time something like this happened to us. Since we did not want to ruin our remaining vacation days we informed Tasos, the guy responsible for the smooth functioning of the resort,of the issue hoping he will find a solution. Unfortunately, not only did my sister not get her things back but the two cleaners which stole her things were there the next day as if nothing had happened. The resort manager showed zero respect for us,his clients, and a lack of professionalism since they had no other cleaner to replace the ones that were pickpocketing. We would like to point out that we have no problem with Tasos, he was actually really helpful during our stay and tried to solve the issue. However, he does not have the authority to fire anyone because he is just an employee. In summary, we would not recommend Echoes Luxury Suites to anyone. It is not worth the risk paying that much money in fear of being stolen. We understand that choosing employees might go wrong for any business at some point, but we cannot justify indifference and...
Read moreWe cannot recommend this hotel enough! We stayed in the suite with the cave jacuzzi and outdoor pool. The room was always clean, the pools were clean and there was plenty of lounge space. We liked having the jacuzzi for the cooler nights in May. Location: walking distance from all of the main attractions in Oia, but just outside of the centre so that you do not face crowds right outside of the hotel and have privacy while swimming. The view is spectacular at all times of the day and there is good food, supermarket and coffee shops nearby making it very convenient. Best place to stay if you want to be in Oia in my opinion! Staff: everyone was incredibly helpful and kind. We made a few traveller mistakes (ie. did not arrange transportation and lost our key late at night) and they were quick to ensure that our problems were solved despite these issues taking place very early in the morning and late in the evening - outside of anyoneâs normal working hours. We also had some terrible weather during our engagement photoshoot and they were quick to offer a helping hand to ensure that everything went as smoothly as possible. Food: Breakfast was always delicious and never late, and they offered it on a floating heart which was a nice touch. There were SO many options to choose from! Itâs impossible to not be happy. Pools: comfortable temperatures, private and clean
All in all, we are grateful that we found this hidden gem, and for the kindness and hospitality from Tasos and his team. Wishing you...
