Read moreI start on the very negative point and then I explain the positive points : Negative point (disastrous) : -- For our arrival, we had booked a shuttle (through Epavlis hotel) which was supposed to take us from the airport to the hotel for an amount of 20€. We totally trusted the hotel for this shuttle. When we arrived, a person was waiting for us with a sign with our names on it. We paid the 20€ and entered the vehicle. After about ten minutes, the person takes out our luggage and leaves us in front of a hotel which indicates us to be Epavlis hotel except that once out, it was not the case. This person takes us out of his vehicle without discussion by throwing our luggage. We were on the side of the road in an unknown place and without cash (cabs in Greece only accept cash). We call Epalvis hotel to inform them of this situation but they tell us that it is not their responsibility and that the only solution was that we can call another cab at our expense. After several minutes of tense conversation no solution was found, Eplavis hotel refused categorically: To refund us the 20 € we had given to the cab they had reserved and ill-intentioned To pay us a cab from the place where we were (35 minutes by foot) to bring us back to the hotel To contact the fraudulent cab again so that it comes to recover us to transport us Once arrived at the hotel extenuated after 35 minutes of walking under the sun with our suitcases. No commercial gesture or attention has been acted, no refund of the cab, no compensation or even cocktail offered for this disastrous day. The hotel maintains that it was the shuttle's fault and not theirs, whereas it is the hotel that works directly with the shuttle and that booked it for us! This experience was horrible and the hotel showed us that they are not able to take care of their guests properly. We categorically advise against booking shuttles through Epavlis hotel. Positive point : -- The hotel has a good location that offers a pleasant living environment. The room was clean and the sea view was very nice. The pool and its surroundings are well maintained. We also very much appreciated the bar and the person in charge of its operation (from 12:00 to 22:00) who is very friendly and gives advice on Santorini. The cocktails are well prepared and...
We stayed here for around a week and were happy with our stay here.
The bed was very comfortable (felt like memory foam) and slept well. The rooms were reasonably quiet. Air Conditioning was working great. Cleaners came in every day and did a good job with fresh towels etc.
The hotel staff were fantastic and helped us with everything we needed and were very quick to help also.
The hotel and pool were quite well maintained except I would say they need to invest in new shower heads as the fitting on the wall just kept on moving with the head in it and the shower head was not spraying properly. These things cost around 5 euro so it's not expensive to keep spares and replacement as necessary.
There was no kettle or tea coffee etc in the rooms which was a little annoying. I would have expected that these were provided and topped up each day.
The hotel has a gym and spa which I used the gym every other day. The gym is okay but a little tired but fine for use. I would say it needs some dumbells though.
I wasn't sure how to book the spa as there was no information about it in the rooms or at the reception desk/advertisements anywhere. Maybe they could do with providing this info to guests.
There is also an indoor pool, indoor table tennis etc which we only found out about toward the end of our stay. Maybe the hotel could do with investing in some signage as like our last Greek hotel, it seems to be non existent and we have to ask where to find things.
Towels were provided for the pool at the bar which was good. Also the cocktails were very nice.
The hotel helps you to rent quads, cars and bikes which is great and its reasonably priced. You may find slightly cheaper if you go out and find a local shop but only by a few euros.
All in all we...
