Location: We booked the panoramic suite and must say the view is one of the best in the city. You can see all of Kamari from this particular suite and it offers optimal privacy as you are the highest suite at the hotel you can leave the front door open at night to enjoy the breeze free of prying eyes. The hotel itself is within walking distance of everything. I do mean everything. Shops, dozens of restaurants, the beach, ancient Thera and they offer a free parking lot just down the hill from the hotel. The hotel sits on a hill so you will have a hike cut out for you every morning making your way to the beach or shops. The stairs are exhausting as there are dozens, especially if you stay at the very top. There is an elevator located in the lobby but it is very slow and only takes you up 3/4 way to the very top. You can hear everyone pant up and down the stairs each day. Do not underestimate how often you will have to climb a hill from the dirt parking lot below to the hotel where you will then ascend dozens of steps.
Service: The overall service of the hotel is subpar for the price range. The staff is plenty friendly if you ask them a question but otherwise will not go out of their way to talk to you or check in on your accommodation.
Amenities: The hotel offers hotubs for majority of the rooms and a primary pool towards the bottom of the hotel. The hot tub for the panoramic suite was not working for our entire week long stay. The hot tub could be used but the hot water did not work making it essentially a cold jetted bath outdoors. This was extremely disappointing as it got chilly from the winds at night and we could not enjoy the tub along with the city views. The hotel staff informed us they shut off the hot water to all the tubs to prevent a power outage but did not inform us of this prior to our stay or during our stay. It was only after we inquired. The hot tub fiasco deducts an entire star from my review as it was one of the selling points. If you are staying here for the hot tub, I’d look elsewhere. The main pool was nice but would often get crowded. The room shower was nice and spacious and the toilets were also good. You are allowed to flush tissue at this particular hotel being that it’s newer fyi. Be aware you may receive used toiletries like we did which is disappointing for this price range.
Ambiance: The hotel is relatively quiet depending on the guest staying there at the time but we had no problem with outside noise. This may be because we booked the panoramic suite and have no one above us, but I enjoyed the quiet mature setting here.
Final Thoughts: The location of the hotel and the view offered with the panoramic suite are unforgettable. If you can overlook the stairmageddon each morning, mediocre service, lack of a useable hot tub, then I’d say the location and view would be more than sufficient for a stay here. There was an incident where the hotel staff unbeknownst to us scheduled an HVAC service tech to clean our wall mounted ac unit which kept us out of the room for at least an hour. We only found out as we were exiting our room we literally bumped into the tech who informed us he would need to clean our ac unit. This is something you think could wait to be done until the offseason but I guess not. This did not add to my favorable review as there is not much communication from the staff. Lastly, I booked this hotel for my honeymoon and called ahead to request to see if they do anything special. They told me they do a honeymoon package where they decorate the room with rose petals and provide a bottle of champagne all for 100 Euro. When I arrived part of the flowers were wilted and the bottle of champagne was a cheap bottle of brut that when I looked up cost less than 10 euro. You’re better off skipping this disappointing surprise and doing it yourself when your significant other is out of the room. All in all I personally would not visit again knowing what I know. I expected more from this price point and unfortunately did not enjoy my stay as much as I...
Read moreThe room and hotel looked amazing. It seems freshly renovated|| I never write bad reviews but this is not the first time we come to Santorini, Kamari and this hotel is the one that disappointed us the most.||Several things to mention: ||- Poor choice for breakfast! The breakfast is until 10am. If you have the misfortune to get off at 9:55 you may be disappointed. At 10:00am sharp they pack everything up. They obviously start by packing up the food that doesn't cause a glucose spike :) If you make a request, they will turn you away. It’s fine, we can deal with what we find at the end but I really didn’t appreciate the rude woman who practically screamed in the middle of the reception/breakfast area that the next morning I should arrive before. You really feel that you disturb them… ||- There is no room service. ||- The terrace next to the pool is small. ||- The slope to go up to the hotel is rather tedious. And there are several steps to climb to reach your room. Not recommended for people with limited mobility. If you stay below a room with a jacuzzi. The water falls on your terrace. Be careful if you dry clothes on it. There is nothing to put your soaps in the shower (ok I’m being picky with this one…) ||- If you come with friends, know that in our room we could see the shower from every corner of the room ... no privacy possible. The sink is an integral part of the room... ||This comment can sound picky and usually, when the staff is welcoming and kind I don’t say a word and appreciate my time even when the place doesn’t look as great as Epavlis grace. To end with a positive word, the hotel is clean and has a lot of potential... but we...
Read moreWe stayed at Mon Signor for five nights and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The hotel is serene, quiet and beautifully maintained, with a peaceful atmosphere that makes it the perfect retreat on Santorini.
Our rooms were spotless, immaculately cleaned and cared for every single day. You can tell that a lot of attention goes into keeping everything in top shape, and it truly made us feel pampered and relaxed.
The staff were fantastic, always warm, attentive, and professional. A special thank you to Vasilis, the owner, whose personal involvement and genuine hospitality made our stay unforgettable. His kindness and care for his guests shine through in every detail.
Another big plus is the location: just a 3 minutes walk from Kamari Beach, one of the most beautiful and lively beaches on the island. It’s the perfect combination of tranquility at the hotel and easy access to the sea, restaurants, and local shops.
Mon Signor is a hidden gem. If you're looking for comfort, elegance, and heartfelt service in Santorini, this is the place to be. Highly...
