We booked in at Gianna due to its location away from the bustle of main Thira but we wanted to be central to the Island.
The hotel is located slightly out of the way within a quiet enclave of other hotels on the edge of the town.
Upon arrival our host Evaggelia took the time to get to know us and ask about our joureny and organised some food to be delivered to our room from a local restaurant. We cannot understate how welcome we have been made to feel, we have spoken less to Camas, but he has been friendly and welcoming to other guests.
Our hosts gave us plently of local information, where to potentially avoid and recommendations for food, drinks and other activities.
The room we had was perfect for our needs as we had several tours and full day excursions, its modern comes with a king sized bed, fridge for those bottles of water on the fiery warm days and air conditioning which keeps up with the heat of the day.
Housekeeping visit everyday and will find a way of cleaning, providing fresh linens and towels.
The pool is lovely, epecially in the afternoon/early evening after the sun dips behind the building.
Everyone here is lovely and I cannot say how much they've made our holiday.
We will strive to return on our next visit as a couple.
Big mention to the Ginger Cat, who also visited us on our first night for fusses and a vague sense that he wanted to steal our food.... đ
We leave tomorrow, but from us...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I booked this hotel for 4 nights but only stayed for 2 nights. The staff were rude, dismissive and anything but helpful. Even asking for some water or ice was a problem although they were quite empty due to it being the end of the season. We decided to move as we didn't want to deal with their rudeness so we asked for a refund of 2 nights. We spoke with the Manager a couple of times and he decided that they would refund us through Expedia and it would take 2 days. We agreed and booked another hotel and paid for it. Within an hour of leaving the hotel, we got an email from the Owner saying that they would not be refunding any part of our stay. This refund had been confirmed by 3 staff members and the manager. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The bars on the patio doors wouldn't work so it was very difficult to get outside to the patio, the furnishings are old and in need of repair, the pool was freezing cold even in 27 degree weather and it's on a very steep driveway at the bottom of a steep hill up to town. It's inexpensive In October but so are most of the hotels in Santorini. We moved to the Suites Blue Hotel only a 5 minute walk away which was far superior with helpful staff, gorgeous rooms, fantastic pool and barely a few...
Read moreI've been meaning to write this review for a little while as I was thoroughly impressed with my stay and this hotel. I stayed here in June as I was attending an event and I absolutely loved it. The look of the hotel is beautiful, the room I had was quite small, and could have benefited from a bit more storage but all in all it was great. The service was incredible. Camas - the owner was very welcoming very friendly and very knowledgeable about Greece, gave us a run down of sightseeing spots / things to do and a bus timetable which was highly appreciated. I'm vegan and breakfast was included in our stay, however there weren't many options for me. Thankfully being the lovely people that they are, I was accommodated and the chef made me the most beautiful sandwich I think I've ever had ( so much so that I requested it every morning). The location is near to the town/ stores and plenty of restaurants. But it's not busy / noisy at all. My only issue was the steep sloping road we had to walk up and down to get to / from the hotel, but it gave the calf muscles a good work out.
Overall I loved my stay and would highly recommend this hotel, and I would...
