Small, unassuming place off the busy non-pedestrian street. We were explicitly looking for it and still missed it on first glance. After a disappointing and very expensive sunset view dinner the night before, this was a refreshing, satisfying experience!

We got grilled halloumi, stuffed mushrooms, veal stew, and grilled swordfish. Every dish was perfect, flavorful, and reasonably portioned. The sauces all tasted of honey, heavy in a comforting way, but never cloying. And getting the check at the end was a happy surprise compared to other restaurants in the area.

Like all other restaurants, we were the only diners at 7pm, so we felt a bit like we were intruding on the family that owned the restaurant, as they sat at the table nearest the kitchen chatting. But they were gracious hosts, never ignored us and were very polite!

While Kapari Tavern isn't unknown (clearly it has tons of reviews), the hidden entry, the quiet setting, and the homey feel of the service and dishes made us feel like we'd stumbled upon a real...

Great food, cool location. I had the fried dried tomatoes with tzaziki (very interesting, never seen that before on a menu) and the Ancient Chicken with fennel and dill. I was a bit disappointed at first when the main course arrived, since it really isn't much to look at, but the flavour was just lovely. Something I could imagine a Greek yiayia (grandma) cooking on a sunday for lunch to feed the whole family. I will definitely recreate this at home. However, the staff was a bit short on words, I felt as if I was interrupting their pause when I arrived. That being said, going there at 7pm I really was the first customer to arrive there - so maybe I was actually interrupting. In the end I spoke to a waitress who just started her shift and she was really nice and forthcoming. Also they served me a homemade liquor -...

A must visit! Don’t be fooled by the quiet unassuming frontage from the street, this place is a hidden gem!

Authentic Greek food at its best, we simply could not fault our dishes and we would even go as far as saying some were the best we have ever eaten!

The service was warm and friendly, our waiter Valentine was friendly with great knowledge and conversation.

We decided to order a bunch of starters to try a wide variety of dishes and they did not disappoint. Everything was 10/10. I would highly recommend you try the sesame feta and the stuffed mushrooms! Amazing!

Great menu selections and all at very affordable prices, no tourist trap which was great! Don’t bother with those fancy restaurants just because they have a view and charge 40-50 euro per dish, save your money. Your won’t be...
