We booked a room at the Harmonia Hotel for our last night on the island of Santorini. We did this primarily because it is close to the island's airport, and many of the flights back to Europe leave VERY EARLY in the morning. Our flight left at 5a.m., and were to be at airport by 3a.m. I do not recommend this place to stay generally when visiting the island, and the area is not nearly as interesting or scenic as so many of the other cities. The rooms were actually okay, functional. The probably costs around $100 U.S. per night, and we had a little kitchen inside. Getting into the local town whose name escapes, is about a 10 minute cab ride. Lots of great beach front restaurants and bars there. But I digress, and here is the rub: You got to get a cab or van to get you to the airport. I won't call it a scam, maybe because there are not a lot of people working cabs in the middle of the night. We arranged ours prior, and the best price we could get for this 5-10 minute cab ride was 30 Euros. I thought that was outrageous, and there was not much we could do. We took a cab from another part of the island to the hotel, the day prior to our departure. The distance was probably 20X greater than the short ride from the hotel to the airport. Same cab price. We complained to the hotel about the costs, they were nice, but essentially said, sorry there is nothing we can do about it. We did get to the airport by 3a.m. The ticketing, luggage, TSA security measures, were very efficient, and got through all that in probably less than 10 minutes. The airport was at 3 a.m. very crowded. There is only one general gate area where there are probably 6 or 7 doors to the different planes. Getting a seat inside the terminal is very difficult due to the crowds. Even finding a place on the floor to sit is hard to find. Finally, inside the terminal, there is a one man coffee bar with a huge line. the line moves, but what an amazing business this guy must have. Only him working there and he has a monopoly. Still prices for that were reasonable, but I would love to buy this guys business, and if not that, run a cab service in the general area. They don't have Uber. So the 3 star rating I give hotel is primarily based upon the transportation issue to the airport. I could have given the place as low as a one or two. If the hotel stood on its own merit, with reasonable transportation costs to the airport, it would still get the 3 as...
Read moreMyself and my husband stayed here for a week in September. We found the hotel to be very clean. Our room was serviced each day. We had towels for the beach which was handy. Also dressing gowns and slippers! The hotel is very convenient to get to the beach it is only round the corner. Also close to bars and restaurants. We had breakfast each morning and we found there was plenty. Fruit pastries cereal lovely fresh breads croissants etc The staff here are friendly and helpful. Mini bar in the room. Also complementary water. Coffee machine also in our room. One downside in our bathroom toilet was very close to shower bit tight for space!! Also the shower is not completely enclosed so sometimes water splashes on the bathroom floor. Don’t know if other rooms like this. Overall found this a very good hotel would recommend to anyone to stay here. Clean convenient...
Read moreWe stayed here for a couple of days at the end of our elopement in Santorini, and it was the perfect way to wrap up such a special trip. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating—they even surprised us with a room upgrade and a bottle of wine to help us continue our celebration. Such a thoughtful and memorable touch!
The rooms were spotless, modern, and super comfortable—everything felt fresh and well-maintained. The location was also ideal: just a short walk to the beach, close to great restaurants and shops, and with easy parking available for our rental car, which made exploring the island a breeze.
Another highlight was the breakfast—absolutely delicious and a great way to start each day.
We’re so glad we chose to stay here. It was relaxing, welcoming, and a beautiful way to end our time in Santorini....
