Location - If you want to be in Perissa, then location wise it's perfect. It's just off the beach 2 minute walk to the water front. You've got a mini Market next door and a 24 hour bakery just down the street.
The family that run the place are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Even grandma who sits under the tree always waves to you.
Rooms - it's obvious that the price reflects what you get however I'd happily pay a bit more. Bed was comfortable. It's dusty, but, once you see the wind in santorini it's inevitable. Could do with a bit of upgrading the self catering aspect of it (could do with a new kettle) and a new shower head but it's clear they're making gradual upgrades as the lighting in the toilet is recently done.
Overall for the price I can't complain in the slightest. Pool is clean, drinks by the pool is cheap compared to everywhere else in Perissa and beyond.
If you are staying here make sure to speak to. Them about arranging transport to Oia or any activities you want to do, they're cheaper than the tourist trap companies.
Will be coming back next year for a good...
Read moreWe stayed at the Filoxenia in September 2005 and could not fault anything about it. Eugene and his family are friendly and welcoming and will go out of their way to help. Although Eugene can speak only very limited English he will try, and it is better than our Greek!! It's worth making the effort as he is a really nice bloke.|The rooms are clean but a little basic. The pool and the breakfast room was always clean and tidy. The family put on a weekly barbeque which is fantastic and the buffet is all homemade. Eugene and his wife work really hard to make sure that everyone enjoys themselves. Another thing you must try is Eugenes brother's homemade wine which will put hairs on your chest!! Be warned it is very strong. |The bar where Thomas Cook hold their welcome meeting for this resort is fantastic and only a few minutes walk away from the hotel. Demetri who runs it is great and we got to know him well. Make sure you try his 'Thomas Cook juice' and the homemade pizzas. |We had a great holiday here and would definately go back to...
