Ifestos Villa — Hotel in Municipality of Thira

We stayed here for 5 nights while staying in Santorini, we had originally booked the Oroma hotel next door as we were attending a wedding locally however I spotted this hotel on Google maps and after looking into it found it was a fraction of the price of the Oroma and looked like more my sort of place. I am SO happy we did this as the hotel was perfect! It had a very boutique feel about it, it was a perfect location for the centre of Fira, being close enough to walk in easily but not too in the thick of it at the same time. The pool area was spotless with lovely comfortable sun beds which got the sun all day and you never had to fight for a bed! The pool bar served fresh and tasty food at reasonable prices too including yummy breakfast options. The room was perfect with the kitchen area which was really useful for us! My favorite thing about the hotel though was the people who worked there, it very much had a family ran feel about it which I loved, the staff were so friendly and helpful, before we arrived I needed a recommendation on a hair dresser for the wedding, they provided a couple of options and were super helpful, they also arranged our taxi from the airport! When we arrived Nick met us and showed us to our room, Nick was SO friendly and helpful, while we were there we wanted to do quad biking, within 15 minutes of speaking to him he had this arranged and the quad bike was at our hotel! All the staff here including the cleaners were so lovely and accommodating, it really made it for us and was another reminder why I'm so glad we didn't book the Oroma next door which while I'm sure still lovely, it was a lot bigger! ! I can't finish this review without mentioning the resident cat who has lived at the hotel since she was a kitten and is now 15! I LOVED her! We stayed at the wonderful Ifestos Villa for 12 nights from mid to late June and had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the very first moment, we felt welcomed and well taken care of by the amazing staff. They were always available, friendly, and helpful, making our stay truly memorable. Every day, we received excellent tips on various places to visit, allowing us to discover the best gems of Santorini.

Our stay at Ifestos Villa felt like a dream. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable, meticulously cleaned every day. It was evident that the staff put a lot of care and love into their work. The beautiful and inviting pool quickly became a favorite spot for us; being able to take a refreshing dip or just relax by the poolside with a good book was a luxury we truly appreciated.

One of the major advantages of Ifestos Villa is its fantastic location. In just a 10-minute walk, we could reach the charming town of Fira, perfect for exploring local restaurants, shops, and attractions. Additionally, there were excellent supermarkets just a few minutes away, making it easy for us to get anything we needed.

Beyond all this, the atmosphere at Ifestos Villa was truly something special. It was quiet and peaceful, giving us the feeling of being in our own little oasis, despite the proximity to the hustle and bustle of the town. We also appreciated the small details that made our stay extra comfortable, such as the free Wi-Fi connection and the assistance with bookings and transportation.

We spent an absolutely lovely family May holiday at Ifestos Villa. Even before arriving the support was great (we made our booking via a well-known site and exchanged messages via the in-app chat). Eirini was really helpful supporting our preparations, with tips and directions on how to find Ifestos Villa when arriving by rental car. Upon arriving, she welcomed us ever so kindly. We could park the rental car on the Villa grounds. The villa itself is nice and cosy, and oasis of tranquillity and laid-back atmosphere between the large resorts south of Thira. We booked an apartment and a studio, both were recently renovated and cleaned every day. Both also featured a balcony, so regardless of the time of day, we could sit out in the sun (for breakfast this was great). Alternatively, sitting or sunbathing by the pool is great as well. There are enough beds and seats for all guests, no need to rush. The bar opens in the morning and serves great coffees, meals, and cocktails - along with a great taste in music (Zeppelin!). The location is superb: walking into Thira takes less than 10mins. Upon entering town, you will find a grocery store. We rented a car and made many great visits to Akrotiri, the lighthouse, various beaches (secluded as well as Perissa and Kamari), great dinner (Aedani in Bourboulos is highly recommended!), Thira and Oia, museums and archaeological sites, etc. Every morning we would speak with Eirini, Emmanouil, or Nikita and they would give us tips and recommendations on how to get there, what restaurants to check out, etc. Staying at Ifestos Villa and enjoying the hospitality of the team will surely complement your trip to Santorini - highly recommended!
