My daughter & I stayed here two nights - Tues 10/5 & Wed 10/6. We arrived with a large group & the front desk staff took such wonderful care of all of us! They got our bags to our rooms and the cleaners happened to be next to our room & checked to be sure we were happy with everything before leaving us. The many pools on the property meant there was always an empty seat to lay and just enjoy the beautiful water. The property is located just across the way from a great view from the cliff, great for taking photos. Our room was clean and roomy. We had room to open our bags and put things away. The bathroom was cool, the shower doesn't have a door, so had to get used to that! There was a blowdryer and each bed had USB plugs for your phones. There is a good restaurant/bar off the main pool. You can either sit inside the clear-walled dining area or at one of the tables outside. We had a great lunch with delish pizza and cold drinks. Some had fish & chips & said it was really good. Americans - don't forget to ask for condiments, they aren't served automatically. The hotel provides room service, but not until after noon. The front desk staff - can't say enough good things about them. There were so many of us, but they kept us organized and answered questions patiently. They will happily call a taxi for you - but be ready because they get there super quick! You don't need a taxi to go to Fira - it's just a short walk! The staff made this a most memorable stay for us and I would love to go back sometime.

The El Greco is a beautiful property across which accommodations are thoughtfully laid out to give the impression of a picturesque ville of the Cyclades. There are three big pools that are big enough to swim in and numerous other smaller ones to sunbathe, lounge around, and take a dip in. The staff are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. They help to keep the property spotless and sparkling like a jewel in the sun. We had a room on an upper level that overlooked a vineyard of the characteristic Theran vines. It was a beautiful room to be spend time in, cooled by gentle breezes that swept through when the windows were open, stirring the pale light linen curtains and lightly scenting the space with accents of sea spray. The location was perfect, overlooking the Caldera out the front door of the property and a 5 minute walk to the grocery store in Fira in one direction and the same distance to the beautiful Ftelos Brewing Company in the other. It was far enough from the center of town to be tranquil, and close enough to be convenient. There are actually two restaurants open for breakfast in the morning, with the one further away and beside one of the big pools and by the spa, the one to try if you fancy a quieter less crowded dining experience in the morning.

Best thing about this "resort" is the location, as its very close to the centre of Thira, Maria at Concierge, as well as a few of the wait staff. The pools are beautiful but it was way too cold in May to swim. Rooms are far from 4 star and would be a 3 star at best. Lacking basic comfort and inclusions. The worst bed I've slept on in a hotel for years and would be the biggest reason to not stay here !! Beds are just a sheet with thin cover over the sheet. Doona in cupboard so you have to make it yourself. Pillows appear to be old, stained & no protectors on them, just a pillow case which feels a little yuck to me, not to mention there is not support at all. No face washers supplied, no tissues, tea & coffee supplies not restocked daily, quite a cramped space, constantly have to ring reception to ask for basics. Bathroom stays fogged up for an hour or more & walls dripping wet. Location great but bedroom below par. So pick whichever is more important to you.

We stayed for a week at the El Greco Resort and Spa and we really enjoyed our stay. ||||The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to Fira with all the shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel is very quiet with many pools to relax around. The sun loungers are really comfortable with thick mattresses. There seemed to be some available no matter what the time of day. The pools were very cold but once you were swimming you soon got used to it. ||||We were half board and enjoyed the food, although there wasn't a massive selection everything we ate was really tasty. The only thing I would say in is the hot food at breakfast was luke warm. You have a choice of two restaurants for breakfast. You get a large bottle of water with your evening meal free of charge. ||||We ate at the pool bar on a few occasions and the food was lovely. Drinks were expensive but the service was always good.||||We stayed in room 600B overlooking one of the pools, it was on the second floor away from the road, I did email the hotel beforehand with this request. Our room was a superior room and we thought it was spacious. Lovely shower, hairdryer was ok to use, comfortable bed, large fridge and ample wardrobe space. The room was very light and airy. The cleaner came every day. Two free bottles of water on arrival in the fridge but then you had to get your own. You cannot drink the tap water.||||I used the hotel gym and found it to he very modern with good facilities. I also ran to the town in Fira but it was really hilly with lots of steps. Quite a challenge. ||||We got the local bus to Oia, 2 euros per person for one way. Drops you right in the centre. The bus station is just down the road from the hotel. I asked at reception for a timetable. It is worth checking online for the cruise ships schedule and going on quieter days. We went first thing and by lunch time it was packed, even when there weren't as many cruise ships scheduled that day. It is a beautiful place to visit. ||||The sunset from Fira in the town was amazing to see each evening. I would recommend flat shoes or trainers for walking about though. Lots of cobbled streets and steep steps everywhere. ||||Try the local bakeries, everything we tried was delicious.||||We would definitely return to this hotel, it was fantastic and relaxing from...

The location of this hotel is great. Lovely grounds and pools. The rooms are pathetic. Our towels, pillows and bedding and beds were awful. I can't believe they even use them. When we checked in we were told not to drink the water, yet we were not offered any water. How inconvenient. We were told to walk into town and we could purchase water at the super market. How nice. After flying and traveling to Santorini we are given that sort of welcome. It really put me off. Then, when I walked into my room, I was crushed. This hotel is called a resort and rated 4 stars! I was very disappointed. The pillows were so old and looked like they had never been replaced since the hotel opened in 1996. Also, they were no covers on the pillows, just a pillowcase. Honestly, it had seen better days as well. The linen was scratchy and discolored. The bed were two twin beds pushed together and the sheets didn't fit well. The duvet was so old and lumpy. I would hardly call this resort quality. The room was pathetic in every way. Our balcony was nice, but wasn't private. The other guests on our floor could look at us while we were out there. Also, the 2 chairs were rusty and very uncomfortable. We also had problems with our door. We walked back and forth to reception 3 times . Finally, we were given a ride down to our room and the agent tried to open the door as well. Finally, he kicks in the door and it opens! Just unreal. Also. The small refrigerator was very noisy. The AC worked well, thank God for that, since it was quite hot. The maid service was good.. The kept the room tidy and clean. They did their best to accommodate us if we needed a few more time before they wanted to clean our room. I had a hot stone massage and it was awesome! Niki was amazing. The spa is amazing and I would give it 5 stars! Santorini is a beautiful Island and the people are very kind...

Lots of positives: great location, just 10 min walk from the centre and from the bus station from where its very easy and cheap to visit Oia, Kamari, Perissa etc The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. Good design of 2 storey blocks built around several different pools so never felt very busy. We were surprised when staff said the hotel was full, certainly didn't seem it. Absolutely no need to reserve sunbeds but unfortunately there are always some embarrassing Brits who have to stake their place as soon as they get up 🙄 Very quiet and relaxing as only the pool near the bar/restaurant has music playing. Our room was modern, spacious and well equipped.and we slept really well. The only negative was the breakfast which was surprisingly poor for a hotel of this standard and price bracket. Exactly the same limited offer in both restaurants day after day. We were disappointed by the small selection of fresh fruit, only 2 types of bread to choose from and supposedly fried eggs that looked like silicone, like the ones you get in a child's playset. In the whole week I only saw 2 people take one and after one bite left the rest which is probably why the dish never needed to be refilled, there must be so much waste. Similarly the scrambled egg, and the omelette had the texture of a loofah. This could be simply rectified by having someone cooking eggs to order as most hotels do as standard these days but when I asked the waiting staff if I could order fresh eggs they just said "no its not possible " . But overall a very good, comfortable and practical option if you want to stay in Fira without splashing out on one of the many seaview luxury suites.|Warning - at check in you will asked to pay a hotel tax of €10 per room per night. Apparently this happens everywhere...
