MeRaki — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

We stumbled upon this beautiful place for dinner. We got a few bits: the halloumi, chicken in a pan, garlic bread, grilled pork, moussaka and the hake. All of that and three beers and 500 mls of rosé wine for 75€, (including tip), how could you go wrong!?

We had meant to take pictures but the food was so beautiful and delicious, we literally couldn't help ourselves! We ate everything!

There were two men who were our servers, Santos and Nikos (we could be completely wrong!) and they were beyond helpful when deciding on what to eat off the the menu or checking in with us and our meal.

We sat outside, and were recommended to move to another slightly bigger table as we had ordered so much! 😂 Safe to say that this is a go to place in Santorini and we will most definitely be returning before our holiday ends! Thanks...

This place is not just amazing in terms of food but also the people there. Everyone is greeted with a big smile, explained about their menu especially if you're there and even connects with you at a personal level. We were in Santorini only for 3 nights of which we had food here twice. We decided to (and wanted to) go back there because of the warm welcome we had received during our first visit and also the ever tasty food.

The restaurant hosts a great environment for friends and families alike. We ended up trying many new local and Greek dishes here and fell in love with all of them. Amazing place, the food and ingredients are top top top. I kept thinking that the late Anthony Bourdain (RIP) would have loved a place like this -- so much character and so much flavour in the dishes, low key atmosphere. With so many tourist traps to be found in Santorini where you pay 3x the price, come here to experience 3x the quality of beautiful cretan cuisin for 1/3 the price. The owner ships in ingredients specially from Crete daily. You will not be disappointed as the dishes are some of the finest to be found on the island.
