My wife and i stayed in Estia hotel for 10 days from 24.06.-04.07.2014., and had one room on the first floor, room number 7. ||||Hotel has a really good location, less than 100 m from the beautiful beach in Kamari. Room was clean, pretty spacious, with small tv, fridge, wifi, individual A/C, safe deposit box ( no exstra charge ) nice bathroom ( there were litlle problems with the water pressure in the afternoon ) and nice balcony. I must notice that i had problem with a bed size, because im 195 cm high, and the bed was litlle for me and my wife, so, i did not had nice sleep quality. They change towels every two days, lining every day. Breakfast was ok, its served from 7 to 10 in the mornning ( hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, cake, etc are among the choices, feta chesse, olives, tomatoes, variety of hams, jams, juice, milk, water, coffee, tea ). ||||Girl on the reception was so nice and informative, and gave us info about everything that we needed.||||||Near the hotel you can find everything that you need, car rental agencys, supermarkets, restaurants, souvenir shops, and its realy close to everything.||||We also had exelent guide ( we booked hotel via NOVA travel agency from Bosnia and their partners Kalodoukas travel agency from Belgrade, which are great ), Dalibor is so helpful, great person, so nice in general.||||||Beach in the Kamari is so beautiful, perfect black sand, beautiful crystal clean sea, with pleasant wind and litlle waves every day, nice sun beds ( they are free in a lot of places, in front of the Zorbas restaurant, u just need to have a drink on the beach, or if they are payable, they are just 5 Eur for two sun beds and sun umbrella ), u can also find a lot of free wifi on the beach, what was hopeful for me.||||Restaurants in the Kamari are nice, and they are not expensive, you can have dinner or lunch for 2 for just 20 Euros or less..||||Prices in the bars are also good.||||We also book a bus excursion via Kalodoukas agency arround the Island, and it was so good and informative. We spend all day visiting all most interesting places on the Island, including Pyrgos, Fira, Oia, Megalochori, Perissa, Mesria, we had also the time for the lunch and swimm at the Perissa beach.||||If you plan to visit Fira or Oia, u can do it with the local buses, prices are 1,60 Eur p/p in one direction. Buses are relly nice, great, they running every 30 mins, a the latest are on 00.00 h.||||You can also rent a car, they cost 35 EUR with full insurance, or bikes, quads .. Island is small, roads are nice, with a lot of traffic signs.||||I can reccomend this hotel for the couples, and also for the guest with the children, In general, its...
Read moreMy friends and I spent 7 nights at Hotel Estia, from 16th - 23rd June 2013. I must admit that my experience exceeded my expectations!||||The Staffs:||Service-minded, warm and friendly, and they would go out of their way to help - from providing extra pillows and blankets to finding a work around. One late night the electricity went out in our room. We didn't feel it was possible to sleep without the aircon, and the hotel was fully-booked, so we couldn't get another room. After a short negotiation, the manager, Marina, was kind to transfer us to one of the hotel's subsidiaries for the night. The next day, the electrician fixed the problem, while we were having our breakfast. ||||The Breakfast:||Breakfast was served from 08:00 - 10:00. It was not a banquet, but it was adequate - Coffee, tea, orange juice, müsli, greek yoghurt, bread, jam, tomatoes, cucumber, canned peaches, honey, butter, eggs. NOTE: They ONLY served hard-boiled eggs. However, once in a while, with a bit of luck, you could get a medium-boiled egg, unintentionally :)||||The Hotel:||We were three, who shared a room with a double and a single bed. It was spacious. There was a TV, wardrobe, a safe, a refrigerator, a dresser, 2 chairs and a balcony with plastic patio furniture. The bed and the pillows were good to sleep on. The aircon worked well and was quiet. NOTE: We found 18 C too cold and had to turn the thermostat up to 25 C, which was unusual!!! LOL!||||The room and the bathroom was cleaned daily, and the towels were changed a couple of times during the week, and when we lay them down on the floor, to signal the a need for a replacement. The sheets, however, were not changed, although this was a minor issue for us.||||There was a shower, but there was no shower head holder. This seemed to be very characteristic of the hotel. :)||||There were no toiletries, but a hairdryer could be provided upon request! ||||The Pool:||The pool although relatively shallow had a good size, and was well-maintained. There were even 2 toilets with shower, plus an open shower beside the pool. The umbrellas and the sunbeds were old but still usable, and the beds were still comfortable enough to lie on. ||||The Location:||Very close to the bus stop, the beach, the shops, the supermarkets and the restaurants - just walking distance! The bus trip to Fira from the Hotel is about 30 minutes. The local buses came approximately every half an hour.||||I arrived at the hotel with quite a skeptical attitude, but my stay in Hotel Estia proved me wrong.||Personally, I think Hotel Estia...
Read moreCurrently staying in what is now called the Alitana Boutique hotel I feel compelled to write a review. |The reception and booking system are so disorganised. We arrived late Saturday evening having booked to stay at the Santorini houses, which is one of their 3 blocks of hotels. They didn't have our reservation even though confirmed so gave us a room in their main block until they could sort out in the morning. Room number 201 right next to reception so needless to say we didn't sleep with people checking in, phone ringing etc. |We chose Santorini houses as it had self catering facilities and we had brought some produce with us to cook. Next morning we were informed we could not stay in the Santorini houses as none were available and we could have a room in the Alitana boutique which was an upgrade so the receptionist reminded me several times. I don't think the receptionist enjoys her work she never smiles and everything seems to be such a chore. We took room 103 lower level floor which was ok apart from the cleaners wake you up every morning chatting outside the hotel, well outside our room. |We've asked today to keep our room on as we have a late departure guess what they don't know who is coming in on Saturday. There's a surprise. |I write this review very tired so excusing my rant the good points are the rooms just recently refurbished are of a good standard and clean. The large kingsize bed is very comfortable. Shower not very powerful or hot but ok to get showered. There is a small fridge in the room which is great for water and our unused bacon and sausages. Lol. Would have been nice to have a kettle in the room. Rooms cleaned daily with clean towels. Breakfast is cereal, ham, boiled eggs bread etc typical continental breakfast. There is a decent size pool opposite with a bar. The lady who manages the pool and the breakfasts is very pleasant and will do anything for you. The hotel is relatively close to the beach, bars and...
