Had been looking forward to our 2 week holiday in Lucia Villas, and am afraid I have to report that I found it disappointing. Lucia was all very charming and likeable, and yes, it is a small budget hotel, but it claims to be 3star, well that's what I paid for with my tourist tax, but in reality it is only 1star.|It would appear, despite having pointed out that the practice was frowned upon, Lucia allowed the sunbed users to hog their preferred sunbed for the length of their stay, leaving their towels on over night, and claiming ownership. There is not many sunbeds available, and made less by this ignorant and selfish practice. I was told that if I wanted to complain again, when the towel owners were not on their bed, then she would remove the towel. Hardly an appropriate solution, and open to conflict in such a small pool area. ||So we were stuck with only the minute patio area to be able to sit out, unfortunately this was marred by the air con unit endlessly dripping , so unable to sit to the table without being dripped on. Endlessly told that they would take care of it, but to no avail. I think they looked at it a few times, probably scratched their heads, and tried something, but useless. The most laughable attempt at sorting the issue was putting some white tape around the bottom of the chairs, where they touched the ground, so as to stop all the rust stains appearing.||On top of this could mention how the room was not cleaned properly before arrival, dirt and crumbs under the little useless cooker, and the endlessly stained towels, and the general poor quality of everything. As a final petty annoyance, we were staying self catering, but there was no tin opener. Asked at reception, Vagelis, had a brief rummage through a drawer, only to say we were better off going to one of the shops and buying one.||Shame, as with a bit of an effort to stop anti social behaviour, and a bit more interest in taking care of certain small, but niggling issues, they stay would have been much better. ||It is not a place I will be returning to. ||On a side note, we did see that she had a slate plaque from Wales, engraved with the national anthem in Welsh, along with a Red Dragon and some nice yellow daffodils, and as I am from Wales, said how nice it was. Lucia then went on to explain, how some regular guests, occasionally like to give something to the reception area from their homeland on returning to the hotel. She then explained how a regular valued customer from China had given it. I pointed out that it was a Welsh Dragon and not a Chinese one and that the plaque was from Wales. Not such a valued customer it would seem. ||Diolch ( that's Welsh,...
Read morewell, what can i say, loved every minute of my week here with my daughter. ||the location, the views, the staff, and we pretty much always had a space round the pool every day. cant recommend these enough, the rooms are basic, but they are used to sleep and shower in and yes it takes a while for the shower to warm up, but let is run for a few mins and it works. mythos 2.50euros, sprite 2.50euros, tried some of the snacks and they was nice aswell and cheap.||bars. we went dorians bar a few times, great place and had all the football on, black beach bar was good. and just down the road near the big church and bus stop is a gyros tavern and chicken rottiserie place, highly recommend and very cheap as is the 24/7 bakery. go the to carrefour supermarket just keep walking past doirans, it has everything and also a barrel of wine than you can fill a litre and a half of white wine for 3.50 euros. bargain. lots of great food places on the front, we tried a few at the bottom of the hill that you walk down to get to the front. delimar and jaspers was nice, and the fish restaurant, also some really nice greek places which you will see on the road to dorians. hellas was very nice.||buses are very regular we did oia and fira in a day, be mindful of fira bus station its a free for all, unorganised chaos but we got back in one piece. we also went kamari which is beautful, and we did the open air cinema for mamma mia in kamari, cant recommend this enough. hiring a car you can through the hotel, works out cheap to hire and the island is beautiful, perissa is so quiet compared to oia and fira whch is exactly what we wanted.||if you have this booked, you will be pleasently surpised, and for the price you cant complain, it really is like having a villa to yourself somedays round the pool, no sunbed wars. dont expect 5 star, and you will love it, if you come thinking its the ritz you will be dissapointed.||hope you enjoy if you go as...
Read moreLucia Villas has been a brilliant little hotel for us this week, the rooms are very well equipped with multiple sockets, a hairdryer, tv, wall safe etc. It is spotlessly clean throughout the entire property, our room, the pool area and also the reception! Suah the cleaner is absolutely fantastic this is one of the few hotels we’ve been in where we’ve received fresh towels daily and also clean bedding every couple of days! He seems to be at work most days for long hours so no matter what time we have gone out at we have always returned to a beautifully clean room. The self catering facilities are fab; plenty of cutlery, plates, bowls, glasses etc. and also cleaning supplies for dishes. The bathroom is of a good size and was also spotless. There isn’t a huge amount of storage as you’ll see in the pictures for you to put loads of clothes away but was absolutely fine for the two of us for a weeks stay so wasn’t an issue at all. Bee and Lucia on the front desk were very informative of the area and told us where was worth going and they can also book trips for you too! The safety box is €10 which I think is fine as you’re in a small family run hotel and the WiFi and air conditioning were free and both work perfectly! We would absolutely rebook to come here again it exceeded all of our expectations and was just in the perfect location only 5 minutes away from Perissa beach and all of the restaurants and shops. Would highly recommend to anyone that’s wanting to visit Santorini...
