Irigeneia Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Thira

Great hospitality, couple run business and both are great! At first we were like where are we looked like we were in the middle of the dessert but it turned out to be a great area and service with a nice small tasty breakfast. The room itself was ok bed and breakfast feel, beds ok pillows decent they had a safe, mini fridge, balcony outside the hotel. Shower was really small which is probably only downside as the water sort of went toward the sink and toilet bowl they also had a blower too. To be honest the hospitality service was great too. The hotel is away from most tourist attractions but the bus is close by 5 min walking distance and was a very nice Coach bus with great seats for $2.50. The area also has some Gems like Black Beach and another Red Beach as well as local convenience stores, restaurants and pizza place close by. We rented a car which also was nearby and Kiki arranged that they would bring the car right to hotel and drop it off there too for $50 Euros for the day and she told us where to go and best place to eat which we loved and went back 2x it had a garden within it and near all the shopping area. We also drove all over the island to Oia, Fira to the Light House and saw the Blue Domes. So overall it was a good stay and we do recommend this hotel and area Perissa was...

Abbiamo scelto questo hotel per le ultime due notti in Grecia , prima del volo per l’Italia. Eravamo già stati sul lato della caldera appena arrivati a Santorini , 10 giorni prima, quindi volevamo provare una delle località balneari sull’altro lato. |L’hotel Irigeneia ci sembrava una buona scelta a Perissa. In effetti è molto semplice , ma ben tenuto e curato nella pulizia. L’ambiente è familiare e tutti sono molto disponibili e gentili, attenti alle esigenze del cliente. Non sempre c’è qualcuno alla reception durante il giorno , ma basta suonare il campanello sul bancone. ||La nostra camera tripla, al piano terra, era ampia, con letti grandi e comodi (anche il singolo era più grande del solito letto a una piazza). Arredamento molto semplice, quasi spartano , ma con tutto l’occorrente per un soggiorno tranquillo . Frigorifero, Aria condizionata funzionante, ottime persiane che permettevano di non far entrare la forte luce del sole durante il giorno . Buono il segnale del Wi-Fi. Carino il patio esterno con tavolo e sedie, peccato per la vista sul parcheggio. |Punto debole il bagno : molto scomoda la vasca , tra l’altro piccola, con tendina per fare la doccia. ||La colazione mi è piaciuta : avevo letto recensioni particolarmente negative su questo, però tutto sommato l’ho trovata buona. Cornetti , sfogliatine con marmellata , yogurt, frutta , miele sul tavolo, ma anche una discreta parte salata , con formaggi, salumi e uova. |Normalmente viene servita dalle 8.30 , ma l’ultimo giorno questo orario coincideva proprio con la nostra partenza , pertanto sono stati davvero molto gentili nel farci trovare tutto pronto già alle 8. ||Riguardo alla posizione, devo ammettere che non mi ha entusiasmato, ma per un gusto personale . |Abbiamo scoperto , infatti, che Perissa è una località piccola, tranquilla , frequentata solo da coppie e famiglie. Ristoranti e bar principali sono tutti sul lungomare, ma non ci sono locali rumorosi , pertanto, almeno per i nostri gusti , non era necessario scegliere un hotel in posizione interna come l’Irigeneia. ||Tuttavia e fortunatamente, le dimensioni di Perissa consentono di raggiungere tutto in pochi minuti a piedi. Dall’hotel , ad esempio, con una camminata di nemmeno 5 minuti si raggiunge la spiaggia, all’altezza del Pleasure bar (Fatevi indicare la via più breve dallo staff dell’albergo). Quella parte di spiaggia però è la più stretta di Perissa, quindi consiglio di proseguire a piedi lungo la strada parallela al mare: la spiaggia diventa via via più ampia. |Mini market, fermata del bus per Fira, autonoleggi : tutto è a un paio di minuti a piedi dall’hotel. ||Di positivo c’è da dire che è possibile dormire nella tranquillità assoluta : intorno all’Irigeneia non c’è molto, qualche casa e qualche altro hotel, raramente passano auto, quindi il riposo è garantito . Inoltre è vicinissimo alla montagna che separa Perissa e Kamari, Mésa Vounó: un rilievo imponente, con la particolare chiesa bianca “incastonata” sulla parete (Panagia tis Katefiánis)...davvero un panorama suggestivo. ||Per due notti in camera tripla, colazione inclusa, abbiamo speso 270€: una buona cifra per Santorini. |L’hotel può essere la soluzione giusta per chi ama i posti semplici, ma curati. Non lo ritengo un 4 stelle (non ha arredamenti lussuosi, non ha una reception 24/24 e non dispone di piscina), però è un hotel familiare in cui si può trascorrere un piacevole soggiorno...

I really enjoyed my stay at this cozy hotel. The hotel is in white and blue Santorini colors. It is only a 5 minute walk from the beach. The hotel is family-owned, and is kept very clean. The rooms are spacious and have all the necessary amenities. The breakfast was not huge, but had all the right stuff - a basket of fresh fruit, coffee, hot water for tea, yogurt, sausage, cheese, croissants, pastries, boiled eggs, bread, cereal, and milk. We were 3 people and we got a whole apartment consisting of 2 bedrooms, a hallway, a bathroom and a patio with a view of the nearby mountain. ||The first 2 nights it was pretty windy, so it was hard to fall asleep with all the wind howling and shaking of windows. But on the 3rd night, it calmed down and was pretty comfortable. Each room has a flat screen TV with multiple channels, which may be affected by the wind. ||The owners, Kiki and Michael, are pleasant and answered all our questions, including the shortcut road to the beach and the recommendations for lunch. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone...
