It wasn't even the busiest part of the day, but we had to wait about 10-15 minutes to be seated. The place is small and cramped, there is a lounge on the second floor which is right above the kitchen (an open one) and this creates a lot of discomfort - be prepared to get your clothes seriously smelly. The staff is constantly shouting at each other while communicating, which makes the atmosphere even more unpleasant. Three tables of us were seated at the same time, but the waitress took our orders in three separate pickups, even though we were ready at the same time. It turned out that the most basic ham and cheese toast was not available, which disappointed me. The staff's suggestion of a substitute was inappropriate and I only had dessert. Turns out they managed to mix up our order with the next table's and the customers didn't notice. The result was that we waited another 15 minutes for them to prepare the dish. At the next table, pancakes were served first, and after 20 minutes, a toast. The food was delicious and really was the only thing that pleasantly surprised me. I recommend the place for eating, but the service is poor. To compliment the messed up order we were served two glasses of alcohol which was cute but again was inappropriate because at that point I was on medicaments that prevented me from...

I traveled solo in Hungary for five days and this was one of my favorite places to find. It wasn't necessarily the food that made it for me but the personalities. Not that there was anything wrong with the food, I had the yogurt granola bowl and it was perfect. You see, I'm a very outgoing, friendly person who could make friends with a paper bag. I often go out alone with no trouble because I can instantly make friends. But in Hungary? It was difficult. I joked with someone that I should update my CV to say I went on a five day silent retreat. Almost no one even acknowledged my existence while in this country. No one looked at me, no one spoke to me. It was a true solo traveling experience! It's okay, I lived in China for three years so I have plenty of experience with such cultures. But at this cafe???? They instantly made me feel like family. From the moment I walked in the door it was as if I had been there 1,000 times before and was their favorite regular. I liked it so much that I went back a second time later in the evening for a coffee and they were so happy to see me it made me want to move to Budapest! Extra bonus: pride flags wave high in this cafe. Plus, it was March 8th, International Women's Day and they let me borrow supplies to make...

A really great breakfast place with excellent food, perfectly made/ tasty coffee, & a very warm & welcoming english-speaking staff.

It’s not a very big Café, so you may have to wait (& it’s not really designed for huge groups), but there are some window-bar spots for solo travelers/ diners, & a cute upstairs loft dining area for when the lower dining area fills up. I didn’t partake in their pastries (I was too full…), but they looked AMAZING, & super fresh.

Closed on Tuesdays, apparently, & priced pretty in-line with similar restaurants in this heavily touristed area of district 7/ Jewish quarter (read: fairly expensive for Hungary, but still affordable for those based in $/€/£).

I had the “Big Boy Breakfast” which was kind of an english breakfast variant with a fried egg, bacon, a HUGE sausage (with a small side of mustard) & baked beans. The egg was pretty severely overcooked (well past “over hard”, tho they didn’t ask how I wanted it cooked), but otherwise the food was tasty, & the portion was pretty massive (I couldn’t finish it, heh).

All in all a cute spot with a cozy vibe & friendly staff, right in the heart of the action....

Update January 2025 - Still Unmissable and some! After almost 5 years, we came back for both breakfast & lunch. This was one of the reasons we wanted to come back to Budapest! Food was as delicious as we remembered, any option you go for is incredible. Since we last visited there are so many amazing options & now cocktails. Sziszi the chef and owner is so friendly, despite being so busy! My now fiancé still highly recommends the bacon & wants to know how it’s done! :) Can not wait until we’re here next, hopefully much sooner this time! Original review March 2020 - Unmissable. Owner is so welcoming, friendly and customisations aren’t minded, nothing is too much trouble. Best egg on toast I have tasted, the girlfriend also recommends the bacon - good portions, crispy and delicious. We came here twice! I can see this place increasing in popularity and being a massive hit. Everything from the music, atmosphere, service, food and owners positivity is incredible. Highly recommended!
