This hotel was a huge disappointment and absolutely not worth the rating it currently has – the reviews are misleading and overrated. If you are traveling with family or expect even basic comfort, avoid this place at all costs.
Main issues we experienced during our 7-night stay: • No heating in the apartment at the beginning. We only received portable radiators after repeatedly asking. • Broken window in the living room – never fixed. • Toilet ventilation didn’t work – maintenance came, confirmed it needed replacement, but nothing was done. The smell remained throughout the stay. • Broken chair – replaced only after asking multiple times. • Low-quality basics – old towels, uncomfortable pillows and mattresses, gaps in the bedroom window letting cold air in.
Noise: The last two nights were unbearable. It was exactly like trying to sleep with a nightclub wall next to your bed – loud trance/techno music with heavy bass, shaking walls, wardrobes, and beds until 4:30 a.m. This is not “city noise.” This is structural vibration from a club, and it is simply unacceptable. People cannot and should not be expected to sleep under these conditions.
Breakfast: very poor quality for the price. The scrambled eggs tasted awful, clearly cooked with cheap oil, leaving a bad aftertaste. The “barista” was the same person clearing tables, often absent, and when she returned she was irritated at guests for not reading a handwritten sign telling us to wait until she was available. I was simply standing and waiting politely when she snapped. Very unprofessional.
Service: staff were unhelpful, evasive and slow to respond. Even when we contacted them in the middle of the night via WhatsApp, the only answer was “it’s noisy in the city center, talk to reception in the morning.” When the noise repeated the next night, the hotel was “fully booked” and could do nothing.
👉 In summary: this hotel failed to deliver the most basic expectation – a place to sleep. Our holiday in Budapest was significantly ruined. Do not trust the high average score – it is misleading. If you value your rest, your comfort, or your money,...
Read moreThis hotel can not be recommended. Services that were sold as included are surprisingly not included when arriving. The hotel stuff appears friendly but are in fact not guest friendly and are unable to have respectful conversation. Their level of conflict management is very low and childish. During the check in they made several mistakes, tried to give us a smaller appartment than booked, without bath tube and no breakfast, although we booked it. After we complained we could change the room and the appartment corresponded to the description of the booking confirmation. Although the room quality is poor and very run down. Old and cheap furniture that are partly broken like some kitchen doors and the bathroom door. Walls are not properly made up and features are loose. For the windows it is the same. Positive is that the air conditioning is working properly and the beds are comfortable as well. Room service is also friendly and motivated. Another lousy fact is, that the rooms are very far away from the building of the reception. You have to walk several minutes, cross some streets until you arrive to a completely different building far away from the actual hotel. Nothing of that is mentioned in the description. The worst is the breakfast. The bread was mouldy, how disgusting. There was water coming out of a fridge making the floor very slippery and the staff did not care when we told them. There was no fresh fruits and also no vegan options at all. This breakfast can not compete at all and is not worth a 3 star hotel. The breakfast staff is running between the guests and pushing them away because they want to hurry with their work-always shouting 'sorry, please, sorry, please'. I have never seen such incompetence in a hotel. I am wondering to what extend the management is aware and tolerating that bad service quality. My conclusion "Gozsdu Court Hotel" is not more than an...
Read moreI stayed at Gozsdu Court Budapest, and it was an absolute nightmare. If you value sleep and basic hospitality, stay far away from this place.
From before 5 AM, there were people running, shouting, and stomping in the room above mine. This wasn’t a one-time occurrence—it happened multiple nights in a row. I contacted the hotel staff several times, and while they initially responded, their solution was ineffective. They claimed they “asked the guests to stop,” but nothing changed.
After repeated complaints, they finally admitted that the room above was not even under their management. So, despite advertising themselves as a proper hotel, they actually have zero control over many of the units.
When I requested a partial refund, they refused, saying I should have asked to change rooms in the morning—because, you know, guests should magically predict that the noise will continue before even experiencing it.
The worst part? The staff acknowledged the issue, admitted that the noise was unacceptable, yet still did absolutely nothing meaningful to fix the situation. Instead, they gave empty apologies and excuses about another company managing the noisy room.
I booked this place expecting a decent night’s sleep—not to be kept awake by reckless guests and dismissed by incompetent management.
Save yourself the frustration and book ANYWHERE ELSE in Budapest. Zero...
