I would say this place is overrated by tourists as I myself was rather slightly disappointed every time I tried this place. They would let you down if you walk in without reservations(they wouldn’t try to check for real-time availability when you kindly ask if there could be any chances.) For personal experience, the blond girl who was in the front for the breakfast and lunch time kept saying no for any customer who went there without reservation, including me(she literally said that nobody can take a seat for breakfast without reservation even when you waited for 30 minutes when there were so many vacant tables) and then after 3 MINUTES she said we could luckily take a seat because there was a cancellation in a very rude way, which was ridiculous.) My partner was shocked to realize that this place is sustaining such a high ratings in Google maps with this unfriendly service and okay-ish food. The other day when I visited here for lunch with my seniors they gave us the most peripheral seat right next to the entrance(I recently realized that the tables in this area were usually offered to walk-in customers), even with the reservation made beforehand, and wouldn’t give us the main dish after 40 minutes passed after we finished appetizers(my senior actually had to go talk to their BUSY waiter 20 minutes after giving a gesture to them, just getting ‘nodding’ replies from one waitress and seeing her consistently chatting with her colleagues). And I don’t think this is just me cuz I could feel many people were not so satisfied .)in service aspects. I mean.. they got great greenhouse impression which I love and I would have to bring my touristic friends & family members, but do they really deserve all these hypes? Hopefully the management people see this and could improve their staff services so that they can be in the same line with what they charge. :) I would give 3 star for okay-ish food taste(I wouldn’t say it’s phenomenal, even their popular crispy lamb main dish was too salty, but their homemade hummus with carrot appetizer was great) and the...
Read moreI stayed at the hotel Stories Budapest and I could enjoy the breakfast at Twentysix Budapest which was great. I was only missing some fruits or yoghurt options for breakfast but it has many options for everybody. The environment and ambience was great. Definitely a place to recommend. However, the last night we stayed at the hotel we asked at the reception to make a reservation of a table for dinner since we wanted to try the dinner menu. They confirmed us that we had a table at 22:00.
I went to the restaurant earlier to verify that the reservation was made but also to let them know that in case there was any available table sooner I could go immediately since I was at the hotel. Not only at the reception they did minimum effort to look for my name since it was funnier to talk between them about the guy that was at the door. When I finally got her attention I give her my name, my partner’s name…my room number and I told her to verify it with the hotel since they made the reservation. Minimum effort to look for it and finally they said: look, people is eating now, there are no tables and you should remember the name you gave for reservation. I came back to the hotel they said to me, yes, you have a reservation and the manager knows about it. I came back at 22:00. Same thing, they could not find it. A man solved it immediately and gave me a table. I truly appreciated it since it was clearly their misunderstood. Once at the table we ordered, we got served however after we finished the dishes we were totally unattended. Nobody came to remove dishes, offer a dessert, something else to eat… nothing for a long time. I finally saw a waiter passing next to us that was not the one who was helping us and I asked him for the bill, 10 minutes waiting, nobody came with it so I decided to get up and find a place to pay. As soon as I got up the waitress finally saw that I was totally upset since the service was terrible. She immediately assisted me to pay, but this was not the service I expected for a last night at a great restaurant. I could not even try the desserts or cocktails, no service at all. I felt really ...
