SMASH LAB BURGERS — Restaurant in Budapest

we had some hopes based on reviews, but unfortunately, this place has below average burger, bun, and fries. very thin burger- looked different from other pictures (didn’t get double, you shouldn’t have to!), I asked for onions only but they were hard to find, the bun is tasteless- adds nothing, and not even the fries were redeeming. there are way better burgers in Budapest!! do some google searches. sadly, we fell for this one. kind staff and cheap prices were the positives.

update: the manager (?) saw my review and came out to speak to me while we were still there- he was very polite and open to feedback, which is admirable. he understood and saw for himself (no visible onions, over-seasoned and old fries) exactly what I had said. he offered me another burger to make it right, but I was full. he also offered me to come back the following day. that’s good customer service! my hope is that there may be some improvements as the staff seems engaged. I appreciated the humble interaction....

Okay I was skeptical at first but this burger legitimately tastes like an In-n-out burger. It’s basically off the charts good! It’s the special sauce and the bun. I had two burgers and they were so delicious they didn’t even last until I got back to the hotel! Also super friendly service. Just don’t expect to eat inside because it’s really small in the shop with basically only two spots to stand. Just take it to go and you’ll be happy you did! We have tried countless smashburgers across Germany, Albania, Spain, Greece and Los Angeles, but we have never had any as good as the ones at SMASH LAB BURGERS in Budapest. Every burger was outstanding: light, perfectly seasoned, with crispy yet juicy meat — exactly how a real smashburger should be.

We started with two burgers, but by the end of the day the two of us had eaten five. Our favorites were the Truffle Smashburger and the Triple Smashburger (Special Burger).
