Ibolya Espresso — Restaurant in Budapest

Upon entering yonder establishment, our spirits soared high, expecting jovial banter and sustenance fit for the gods. Yet, 'twas an illusion, a mere mirage, that beguiled us with its promising allure.

Oh, what treachery unfolded as we, in goodwill, assembled the tables for our brethren, yearning for companionship and shared mirth. No sooner had we arranged our sitting than we were struck by the cold shoulder, met with disregard as if we were but mere phantoms, invisible to the restaurant's attentive eye. Such was the cruel trick played upon us by the proprietors of this supposedly hospitable abode.

The waiting staff, seemingly more akin to the statues of stone than the courteous servants of a fine establishment, treated us with an indifference so profound that even the frosts of winter would feel warm in comparison. As the sands of the hourglass did fall, so too did our patience, languishing in the icy grip of their neglect.

The cuisine, we may never pass judgment upon, for its taste hath not had the chance to grace our tongues. Alas, we left as we came, with an emptiness in our bellies, but now coupled with a bitterness in our hearts.

In truth, the venue promised a feast, but delivered a famine. Oh, the irony that amidst the bounty of dishes they boasted, we were served the most bitter of all - neglect. Such conduct is more fitting to a Shakespearean tragedy than a supposed house of gastronomy.

To dine within these walls is to seek the attention of a stone, a folly most egregious. Forsooth, let it be known far and wide - 'tis a place of broken promises and shattered expectations. There is ONE (!!!) women's toilet for the whole place. If you are female and go on a Friday or Saturday night be prepared to wait for 10-15 minutes for the toilet every time as there is a huge queue. One time I really had to go and they opened the staff's toilet. So there is more, it is just closed for the guests. :D I don't even think that it is legal to have just one for such a huge place. Never come here if you cant hold it through the night. Sandwich with "meat cream" is very low quality. They moved us to a different table as our's was reserved (there was no sign or whatsoever and it was one of the waiters who sat us there earlier). Valentin nap alkalmából jöttünk egy kellemes vacsorára, ebbe a nagyon hangulatos, retró étterembe/bisztróba. Előtte e-mailen keresztül foglaltunk helyet is, hogy biztos legyen, és nagyon kedves, illedelmes hangnemben válaszoltak is, sőt még külön Valentin napi menüt is küldtek. (Tetszett a menü, de sajnos nem tudtunk volna annyit enni, majd esetleg másik alkalommal). Kértünk koktélokat, és az egyiken volt egy kis szívalakú alma meglepetés, az ötletes volt, tetszett, finomak voltak az italok is. Az ételek összességében ízlettek (Erőleves fridatto, Bacon Burger, Sajttal-sonkával töltött csirkemell rántva). Először gyümölcslevest szerettem volna kérni, de az nem volt sajnos, lehet télen nem csinálnak, vagy elfogyott. A burgerben nagyon tetszett, hogy mediumra volt sütve a hús, de azt nem tudtam, hogy sültkrumpli nem jár hozzá, így a barátnőm krumplijából csipegettem :) . Annyi észrevétel a puffanccsal volt részemről utólag, hogy kicsit meglehetett volna pirítani belső és külső felületét is, de amúgy finom volt, csak könnyebben átázott így. Két "negatívum"-ot tudnék mondani, ha ez annak számít. Az egyik, hogy nagyon közel voltak az asztalok egymáshoz, és kb. 0,5-1 méterre mellettünk ültek, picit a privátszféra így elveszett. A másik meg, hogy a felszolgáló úr kedves volt, de talán túlságosan is közvetlen és többször sürgött körülöttünk a kelleténél. (nincs ezzel semmi gond, csak nekünk ez így picit soknak bizonyult). A hely tetszett és szívesen jönnénk máskor is, másfajta ételeket is megkóstolnánk, (én főleg a gyümölcslevesre meg Kaiserschmarrn-ra...
