The restaurant is in a good place. It has two floors as the first is a cafe part and the second is the restaurant (or that was what they told us) . It was really nice from the inside with nice atmosphere. One part of the staff was polite, but there was this waiter who was really inpolite. As we entered the restaurant we wanted to go on the second floor to have lunch. A waitress asked why are we heading there, that was the restaurant part and i answered that we wanted to have lunch. She smiled and said,, ok,,. As we were going to take place at a table the inpolite waiter that i mentioned came to us and said something in hungarian. I asked if he can tell me in English and he said,, In English? There is a private party and i will ask you to leave, please ". It was fine by me, but he sounded like he wanted us to leave the place and not just the floor. As to the,, private party", from the whole floor there was just one table taken. It must have been the most boring private party ever. However we went downstairs, our order was taken from other waiter who was really polite. The food was brought to us by the same waiter who was not happy we were there. As he served i asked him for the check, cause we didnt have much time to stay. He was so surprised that we asked for it, he lifted his eyebrows and asked,, The check? Now? " like ... Do i have to explain myself why i want it now? Most probbably it is 'cause of your stupid behavior. Anywaaay... The food was really delicious. But i won't ever come again to this place, in which we felt...
Read moreA great variety of pastries are available here including important Hungarian staples. They are delicious and definitely worth a visit. The staff if friendly and available.
The reason to deduct a point is that they offer zero places to plug in a laptop or phone charger. I appreciate why a place would not want to be overrun by such customers, but how about making available 2-3 such seating options that people can then wait for at least? The atmosphere is also not great, it’s all very dark and brown. There are some larger comfy chairs, but those would only be good if you’re alone, they’re uncomfortable for conversing with others across a huge table. If meeting a friend for coffee, it’s probably best to pick one of the smaller tables. Good options are fewer for larger parties. The outside is nice as long as it’s not sunny. If it is then the sun will...
Read moreFew years ago I was a weekly guest in the café while I lived in the area so I wanted to show it to one of my foreign friends. Unfortunately, what I realised is that another traditional café of Budapest is disappearing. Spider web on the second floor, dirty windows but most of all, a very bad and rude service which made me to stand up and go to another café (fortunately in that area there are plenty of good ones!). My friend insisted on seating to a table (one waiter said we can sot there if we really want, another didn’t wamt to allow us - have to add that it was not a peaktime at all, 3:30pm on Saturday and 50% occupancy). Long story short, after we didn’t choose a hot meal, the waiter made a comment with an uptight manner and neglected us so we...
