The room was much smaller than what we thought. The photo was deceiving. A closet really for 3 people. The food was absolutely terrible! We only had the option of a continental breakfast which was fine but at times the scrambled eggs had black in them. The “sausages” looked like mini gross wieners and they served broccoli and cauliflower that apparently wasn’t good either.. The few pastries were stale. I spent our 4 nights there only having toast and tea. And even then the toaster needs to be replaced because even after 5 minutes there was no colour on my toast. It would have been nice to have access to hot water for tea and coffee throughout the day and evening. We could have bought our own tea & coffee if we had that access. Or better yet, supply the same tea and coffee that is served at breakfast throughout the day. Bring in the dry milk and provide a garbage can and no staff are required. The kettle the reception desk gave us took forever to boil. The beds are not comfortable. And they only give you one pillow. However we did ask for additional pillows for each of us and we eventually got them as people checked out. They advertise daily room cleaning but it’s actually every second day. We asked for every day and we got it. |Looking at the boat from a business standpoint it needs a complete renovation inside and out to make it more comfortable and attractive to tourists visiting Budapest. It is not near anything so a renovation could make it more appealing despite the distance and taxi requirements. Make the food more appealing and open the dining room for tea & coffee after breakfast closes down and put better and more seating on both sides of the deck and their rating would increase substantially. There is no way this boat hotel...
Read moreDuring our recent girls' trip, we encountered several challenges at our hotel that I believe could be addressed to enhance the guest experience. ||We arrived at the hotel late at night and found that there were only two cups and two bottles of water provided for our group of four. The following morning, we went to breakfast and were disappointed to find limited vegetarian options. Despite our request at the reception for additional choices, nothing changed throughout our stay. The breakfast remained the same each morning, and the staff appeared to be disengaged, which affected the welcoming atmosphere.||On our second night, we wanted to ask for two additional coffee cups. When I approached the reception, the staff member surprisingly questioned where I had obtained the cups in my room, implying that I had taken them from the kitchen. I found this quite puzzling and was confused by the interaction. Later, when we requested water from the reception due to our thirst, we were informed that we needed to go purchase it ourselves, even though it was past midnight. This meant a 15-minute walk to find a store, which was not ideal.||On another occasion, a group of men knocked on our door asking for a piano key. When we refused, they became aggressive and raised their voices. This made us feel unsafe, and even after we reported the incident to the reception, it was disappointing to hear that they were aware of the situation but did not take action to ensure our safety.||Overall, our experience at this hotel fell short of expectations and led to a stressful trip. I hope that by providing this feedback, the hotel management can work on improving the guest experience for...
Read moreRated 4 due to no kettle or fridge||Fortuna boat hotel was ok, there is no fridge, I asked for a kettle and they only have 1 so I had to go out and buy my own, I would suggest that they don’t use the picture for advertising on google pictures showing the parliament building behind the boat because it’s no where near the parliament building, I think this could be there sister hotel on the opposite side of the river quite some distance away from Fortuna boat.||breakfast was ok very very small selection, hot food was small sausages, beans, mixed vegetables and scrambled eggs ( which were very runny ) then you had yoghurts again like water, bread and pastries.||however the staff were all lovely and polite I asked for extra pillows and it was no trouble for them, the rooms were quite good, air con worked and window opens in room 226, but I wasn’t happy that housekeeping just came in and sorted room out when I didn’t put my sign on the door to come and clean, they don’t have a safe for passports but I did find it quite safe.||the boat does need cleaning more especially on the window ledges full of cobwebs and dead flies inside, ||the taxi from the hotel to the airport was 18,000 HUF so approximately £36 for 1 way, if using the trams get the bulk buy of 10 tickets about £9 BUT when you board the tram you need to activate inside the tram in the machines, we didn’t know this and we got fined had to pay £52 there and then, these tickets also work on buses including the 200E from the airport along with the metro trains, so really good for value.|We would stay again but our first choice would be an hotel closer...
