This guesthouse is located on the Main Street of Andrassy Avenue in Budapest.
Rooms: 4/5 - there are three levels of rooms. There’s an elevator only for the first 3 floors. I stayed on the 4th which means I had to carry my luggage up 2 flights of stairs. The rooms are clean along with comfy beds. Rooms are ideal for couples and solo travellers.
Service: 3/5 - it’s a guesthouse which means it’s mainly self service. They email you a passcode a couple of days before arrival and if you have an approximate arrival time, they open up their reception area. Note: they will clean your room and provide extra towels only upon your request. I requested extra towels verbally and via email which I didn’t receive.
Location: 5/5 - the guesthouse is located in an older building. It’s centrally located within walking distance to major attractions and restaurants.

I stayed in Room 208 and the shower head was leaking water from the pipes. There was a lack of counter basin space too. Room amenities like aircon, microwave, plates & dining table were appreciated!
One thing that was a concern for me was that during check in, some other guest came to check in too and the man at the counter gave us our keys together and said ‘this is your room number 208 and yours (the man) 210’ for example. To me this could be improved because I wouldn’t want someone else to know the room number I was staying in, especially when I’m traveling alone.
Overall, a good experience at Opera 16 with just a few points that can...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic place, 2 doors down from the majestic State Opera House, Rolex store on the other side, these are amazing rooms. Staff were absolutely lovely and the room was just fantastic. Big room, high ceiling, chandelier, lovely big comfortable bed, lovely lighting, carpets etc, fantastic modern toilet and shower room. The main staircase has a 1930’s East European style, I personally loved it, but the rooms are modern and comfortable whilst retaining the old glamour.Fridge; Safe; Writing Desk; Ironing board; I’m amazed at the price I paid for such a beautiful room. Beautiful city, hotel rooms on the Budapest equivalent of the Champs-Élysées,...
