Gentlemen, Budapest is beautiful, and you absolutely must visit it for a vacation. However, if you go, do not even think about having breakfast at this bar located near St. Stephen's Basilica. We had this idea, which turned out to be quite unpleasant. We stopped by this bar for breakfast because it was one of the closest to the Basilica. I strongly advise against going there, especially if you’re a tourist. Below, I’ll attach a photo of the bar sign and, in front of it, the receipt showing the amount we paid for just one hot chocolate (which they decided on their own was "big") and two croissants, for a total of €14.70.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first establishment to do something like this, but it happened to us specifically in Budapest. When they see you’re a tourist, especially an Italian one, they tend to raise the prices because they might think our economic life involves extremely high salaries compared to theirs. But let me assure you, we Italians, with the taxes we pay, are in the same boat. Don’t assume we’re rich, because in my entire life in Bari, I’ve never spent €14.70 for two croissants and a hot chocolate (considering croissants usually cost no more than €1.50 and hot chocolate a maximum of €2.50-3.00).
The croissants weren’t even that great; the hot chocolate was the only decent thing. People say Budapest is affordable, but sometimes you find crafty individuals trying to rip you off just because you’re a tourist. This was a very unpleasant experience, and I hope this comment helps open people’s eyes. Instead, I recommend going to Starbucks. For €7, we got one croissant, two hot chocolates, and one waffle, all of much better...

I am delighted to share my experience at 9Bar, a charming spot brimming with warmth and personality. This small establishment makes a significant impact with its outstanding hospitality and service, setting a high standard that other businesses should aspire to meet.
The first things to capture your senses at 9Bar are their tantalizing offerings. The coffee is simply delicious, a perfect blend that sings on your palate, and their bagels and yogurts are equally delectable. But what truly sets 9Bar apart is not just the quality of their food and beverages, but the remarkable service they provide.
The staff at 9Bar serve every customer with genuine honesty and a refreshing smile. Their attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond for their patrons is indeed laudable. During my visit, I observed other guests inquiring about a specialty item that was unavailable. Instead of just turning them away, the staff kindly recommended an alternative venue where the guests could find what they were looking for.
This level of thoughtfulness and care is rare and deserves commendation. I cannot recommend 9Bar highly enough. For anyone in search of delicious fare served with genuine warmth and hospitality, this is the...
