We stayed for 2 nights. The room was absolutely lovely, it was super clean (apart from a mark on one of the pillows) and the hotel is in a good location.
However, the beds were so hard, I have never known any mattress as hard as these ones. The pillows you have 2, one is extremely soft and one is average. The duvet is thick and plasticy, every time I moved it was so noisy that I kept waking myself up when moving in the night.
There is a temperature controller was very confusing and caused us a lot of problems. There were no instructions included and even when I turned it off it would come back on by itself which caused the air to be super dry and made my nose bleed. We tried all the settings and it still came back on, the room was stuffy and dry. Instructions are needed so that if people want it off then it stays off.
The shower was amazing, lots of room.
The toilet roll is great quality and thick but we weren't given enough, we asked at reception and were told it would be brought to our room which took 20 odd minutes.
The room doors are very weird, the amount of times we went to close it and the lock wouldn't automatically go, we even saw another room which had the same problem! Very unsafe, so make sure to check your door is locked as leaving it fall close might not work!
The safe in the room was super handy!
The breakfast was really good, there was a nice mixture of hot, cold, sweet and savoury options. Shame that there weren't any vegetables signs as there were a couple of dishes which I was unsure about. The waffle maker was awesome and a really nice addition and it was fun to do.
There is a lot of staff walking around I feel like there were eyes on us all the time which wasn't very comfortable, even though I understand they want to clear up asap I felt rushed and sometimes I would get up to grab something and come back and my drink had been taken even though I had a lot left which was annoying as my mum needs a hot drink when eating due to a condition she has so that delayed her eating the hot food which was then not hot by the time she came back with a hot drink.
There are toilets downstairs which were very clean as well and handy instead of going back...
Read moreI was actually really excited about this new Hilton property opening in Budapest, which I visit often.
But I am just sorry to say this Hotel is falling by too many chains standards.
The rooms are not well equipped , most of them don’t even have a desk and the ones that do have one it’s very small and not comfortable.
Some rooms are very strangely designed, and not so appealing and welcoming
The mattresses they use are extremely extremely hard almost in Chinese mattresses standards This is one of the things Hilton known about having almost same bedding in all of their hotels. When I raised the problem the first time, the guy reception said they get this a lot, and they have no really solutions for that but they can put a blanket on the mattress to make it a little bit softer. it actually didn’t help enough but the second time I approached the receptionist he just said there’s nothing we can do about it
I have to say the rooms and the entire place are extremely clean and well-maintained.
Service is not consistent sometimes the bed will be well organized and sometimes you just feel like they’re doing you a favor coming to make up your room. The side of my bed was sticky and disgusting.
On my second day, I asked for toothbrush, and they said they run out of the free ones so they tried to sell me a toothbrush 🤦🏼♂️
It’s important to know that sometime, they will ask you to come down to the reception to take things because they have nobody to bring it up to your room
The room which I got had a very strange design and the windows was weird and very hard to operate
WiFi is horrible!! Its disconnect every few minutes and u have to reconnect and type the password every time.
Overall, not the best experience not what I expecting from a property under the Hilton chain, which I mostly choose as a...
Read moreCentral location that's great for a short stay.
The hotel was very new when we stayed and so everything was clean and snazzy. But the rooms themselves felt like university dormitories.
For a hotel of its size, this is not set up to serve breakfast for everyone. Every day that we were there one of the drinks machines was broken and the orange juice ran out without anyone seeming to care enough to fix it.
The staff were all polite but seemingly had never worked in hospitality. On one occasion, I was told, at around 9/10pm that I could not have a sheet because the housekeeping team had gone home for the night. The receptionist told me this, smiled and then promptly went back to working on her computer. I was asking for a sheet because I was feeling unwell and the duvet was very thick. I also couldn't open the window in the room because people were clearly using the outside space to smoke. Several of the hotel corridors also stank of cigarette smoke which was unexpected for a brand new hotel.
Speaking of the corridors, the warren of poorly marked doors and stairways made me very concerned about potential emergency situations. I assume that the hotel follows all fire regulations but I would have been very hard pushed to get anywhere quickly and I actively check for these things.
Overall, this felt like a budget hotel pretending to be something better. I wish that we'd spent a little more and gone to the Mera hotel down the street.
Also, the parking charge is disgusting and if we'd known how extortionate it would be, we could have parked nearby for a lot less money. This is of course our fault for not doing proper research (but the Booking.com listing was also misleading) but I can now see why so few people were parked...
