It’s a nice hotel, fairly central with welcoming helpful staff. For most people Iceland is expensive, so I’m trying to allow for this in writing the review. We have the best room in the hotel. It has a pretty amazing view. However, it feels like the hotel is aimed at business users or people who just stay for a night or two. We are here for 6 days but it’s impossible to unpack as nowhere to put clothes. No drawers and enough space to hangs 4-5 shirts. No idea where one is meant to put other stuff - so literally living out of suitcase. The bathroom is pretty small and has a shower over a bath. As I’ve got older I find this more problematic. Getting in and out is bit of a risk. The wash basin is separate in the bedroom, which again I don’t really like as it means it’s a bit disruptive when one of us is using it during the night. It’s also right by door to bathroom so you can’t pass by if one person at the wash basin. Even though it feels fresh and recently refurbished, the lack of USB points and limited access to power sockets is poor. The TV is really Basic. No TV guide, no smart features at all and ours wasn’t working properly at the time of writing. A person did try to repair but menu page doesn’t link to anything so while all hotel information is on the TV we can’t access it. We do have an espresso maker which is nice. Alrnough charging over £2 for a small bottle of water feels mean. The breakfast is pretty good given how expensive food is here , but not as comprehensive as many travellers might expect these days. One gripe - you have to pay for decent coffee. This really annoys me in hotels that are not cheap. In conclusion , I think the hotel is fine for one or two nights , but I think I’m going to struggle a bit as we are here for another five. Big thanks to staff - they really do their best to make you welcome despite the restraints of the hotel facilities and policies.

Perfectly located to all the pick up points, shops, restaurants etc. Clean and modern. Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was great, plenty of selection and they kept it fully stocked up, even when one day we arrived 10 mins before it finished, they still were making sure everything was fully stocked. The spa was also great and included an indoor hot tub, outdoor hot tub, sauna, gym etc. Our beds were so unbelievably comfortable. Honestly everything about it was lovely, the only reason I will not be staying here again is because of the bathrooms. The toilet is basically in the room...the door is frosted glass and just swings shut without actually closing if that makes sense. It's kinda like a shower screen with gaps all around so you're basically going to the toilet exposed and was a bit uncomfortable. We even had a deluxe room for 3 people and we had to keep leaving our room to go and find communal toilets at reception whenever we needed to use it as the room one had absolutely zero privacy. We overhead two other people around the hotel complaining to eachother about the bathrooms too so I'm pretty sure a lot of people weren't comfortable with the set up. I feel like you should at the very least feel comfortable to go to the toilet in your own room so this massively lets it down. Apart from that, I really can't fault the hotel at all, it's actually a really great hotel and if they install proper doors on the bathroom I would definitely return without hesitation!

I stayed at the hotel for 6 days and here is my review

Positives: -The location is perfect, many convenient stores, souvenirs shops, sightseeings and restaurants close to the Hotel. -The room is comfortable, amenities, facilities and the restaurant are great even better als average 3 stars hotel. -There are plenty parking spaces close to the hotel even the hotel itself has a parking area for the guest although it is limited for like 10 cars. Anyhow it is still better than other hotel which doesn’t have parking area. -Breakfast is really extraordinary, yes it doesn’t offer many varieties of food but at least the foods are amazing. -Although it is very small but the hotel has gym and spa area.

Negative: -staffs are not so friendly (but I think it’s quite normal in Scandinavian countries). -again to the staff‘s point, some of them are not quite professional, I’ve booked room with access to the Spa. During check in I‘ve asked twice whether I can directly entering the spa with the given keycard, the lady on the reception replied to me that I can directly go to spa with the given keycard. And the day after I went to the spa and the key didn’t work. So I had to go to the receptionist again just only with a bathrobe and that was about 8 p.m. or so and it was so cold just to change the key card. Finally I can use the keycard to entering the spa area but it should’ve not happen if the receptionist as we checked in worked professionally. -the heater in the room and the hallway makes a lousy noise, because of that we couldn’t sleep well. They should do maintenance of the heater regularly. -the bathroom doesn’t have heater!! can you believe it in Iceland in the bathroom during winter and without a heater? That’s really a fatal mistake I think. -again to the bathroom‘s point, the toilet was really stinky. I‘ve read also other reviews and they’re complaining also the same problem: the toilet is really stinky and no it is not from sulfur, I think they have problem with sewage or something.

Conclusion: Yes I would recommend the hotel if you’re staying just for a couple days (like 1-2 days). Otherwise if you want to stay longer, because of all the problems I mentioned I would not...

I'm fairly fussy when it comes to hotels, and I wanted to say how impressed I was. We travelled from the UK with Easyjet on a package holiday and chose this hotel because of the great reviews. When we arrived the lobby was lovely and warm and modern. The staff were very friendly and helpful and happy to greet you whenever you came in. The room we had was warm, a really good size (the bathroom was huge with a walk in shower). The beds were super comfy and we had a nice view overlooking the outdoor hot tub. There is a safe and a mini fridge in the room free of charge, and complimentary shampoo, body wash, conditioner and body lotion in the bathroom. The breakfasts were fairly basic but we expected continental only, so it was a bonus to have scrambled egg and crispy bacon which was tasty. The only criticism was the food wasn't very warm, but the pastries were lovely. The spa facilities (small gym, sauna and an indoor and outdoor hot tub) was £25 per person for the duration of your stay. The spa facilities were nice and included a robe, slippers and fresh towel and use of their lockers and showers. I'd say that the spa is worth it if you are staying a week or longer, depending on what plans you have. We were only there 4 nights and due to all our activities only got time to use the spa twice. The hotel's location is fantastic and we felt there were lots of nice restaurants and shops within reach. There is a small car park at the hotel which is a P2 parking zone, and free after 6pm during the week. We didn't have an issue parking but it would get full in the evening, so it's worth having a back up option. We somehow misplaced both our room cards or lost them at some point and had to go ask for a replacement which they did free of charge for us which I thought was very kind. We had an amazing first time in Iceland and will absolutely be coming back again to this hotel. I'd highly...
