My partner was given an experience voucher for brunch and spa … (for her birthday)firstly the brunch was a disgrace we both opted for the American brunch which had scrambled eggs, my partner asked if she could swap for fried eggs…. She was told no the chef will not do that . So she went for the English which came with fried eggs… she asked for no beans and the eggs to be turned and cooked both sides . After waiting 20 mins her food came beans were on the plate , eggs were not turned ,sunny side up and they forgot to put bacon on after sending back for eggs to be done they way she asked for plate came back with beans still on and still no bacon oh and was given bread not toast . My breakfast was terrible and the chef should be embarrassed that they cannot cook fresh scrambled egg sausage balls were cold and bacon like leather…. I am 100% positiven I got leftover breakfast food Note the mushrooms are not fresh cooked hash brown cold and dried out bread not toasted I took my partners beans You can tell none of this food was cooked fresh to order so to wait 20 mins for leftovers is a disgrace.. This was certainly an experience, not the one we were looking for . On the spa part of our adventure….. I’m not sure what the definition of spa is but I thought it might be more that a hot pot and a sauna but to be fair we actually enjoyed it probably because we had it to ourselves if they were lots of people there then i think this would not have been pleasurable…. My question is …… we’re we given these disgusting leftovers because we used a gift certificate or is this normal for paying customers aswell , I only ask because if I paid for this I would want my money back … not much I can do when using a gift card. After sending my complaint to the manager Of this establishment I was dealt with empathy and professionalism, I was offered an invitation to brunch on any occasion I would like. I decided to try again just to see if it was any better. This was a completely different experience for us the service was fantastic ( different server) and the food was cooked perfectly I wanted to add this to my original post because because of the contrasting experience’s. But mostly because my complaint was listened to acknowledged and dealt with in the most professional way The last picture is of my...
Read moreEven for the price the stay was bad. We were placed in a satellite apartment which we had to share with several strangers. No parking. Central placement right next to a store. I'd normally say "you get what you pay for" but I truly advise you to spend a bit more for something better. Luckily we only stayed for a couple of nights. Our receptionist were nice though.
In one of the floors, the toilet weren't in a separate room. Just a part of the hallway only separated by a poorly made wooden "slideable" door. All noise and smell goes straight out. Ventilation in the toilet were dirty. On the same floor, the shower was located in the kitchen. I don't even know who thought of this. The water in Iceland does smell sulfuric, however the other places we stayed did not smell this strong. Would recommend buying drinking water at the store. For showering it was fine, just get used to it.
The beds in some rooms were okay, but some were dirty, disgusting and full of stains. Dirt and dust under beds and in corners. One rooms lacked ventilation, with only a tiny window to air through, leaving no way to escape a fire. The sheets looked beat-up and used, not really tempting to sleep in. Started itching after the first night, so I slept on my clothes instead. However, the size of the rooms were good.
The apartment had really thin walls and floors. We had to sit through the sound other residents doing "activities" at night. A lot of door slamming and shouting, however this can be blamed on the other residents.
Overall, we unfortunately had a pretty bad experience with this stay. I'd never stay here again, however I can't speak for the other apartments they may have. I regret not spending a bit more on...
Read moreA booking for five people on Christmas Day was made several weeks in advance for a meal at 3pm. Three and a half HOURS before the meal, we received an email saying that the kitchen was closing at 2 o'clock and they had been unable to contact us by phone. There were no explanations or apologies.. I emailed Jorgensen and asked when did they know the kitchen was closing at 2pm and what was the reason for the kitchen closing. Their reply was that they tried to contact us by phone, but couldn't - so they sent an email. No explanation of why the kitchen was closing at 2pm or even when they knew the kitchen was closing at 2 pm.. And to rub salt in the wound the first sentence of their email was "First of all we wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS". Their customer service needs a radical overhaul . It ruined our Christmas Day. Well...
