It’s a shame I can’t give zero stars.
I arrived at the shop at 22:10 to order some ice cream. From the start, I was greeted with rudeness when I asked if they still had large cups. I went ahead and ordered what was available, but things only got worse from there.
A friend of mine was choosing her flavors and was rushed by a very rude woman behind the counter, who clearly wanted to close early — despite the door stating the place is open until 23:00. Another customer trying to pay with cash was also rushed in an equally unpleasant manner.
I chose to eat my ice cream inside and observed how every single customer after me was treated. Honestly, I’m shocked this woman still works there. I can only hope she’s the owner, because if she’s an employee, it’s unacceptable for any business to tolerate that kind of attitude.
Later, a family came in and asked for large cones — something the shop advertises. The woman tried to discourage them, saying it wasn’t a good idea. They insisted and were eventually served, but not without being treated poorly.
The service was absolutely appalling.
I love Iceland and I travel the world for work — I’ve never experienced service this bad. It’s such a shame that in a city known for its warmth and kindness, a place like this shows so little care for the people walking...
Read moreLovely food hall! We came here for dinner and picked the banh mi and Skal! to try. The vegan banh mi sandwich was really good but the baked Arctic char with mashed potatoes was my favorite. So fresh and perfectly baked with lovely mild cappers and onions to add to the flavor. The portion was worth the $$. There were also loveballs on the menu (made from whey cheese and cinnamon) that I really wanted to try for dessert and house kombucha that I saw too late on the menu. Maybe next time! We looked around the other places and all of them seemed to be vegan/veg friendly with at least one option.
The atmosphere was inviting and friendly. Lots of young groups and families enjoying the happy hour that’s until 6pm in a very relaxed manner. Parking was easy and...
Read moreThe place itself is in what could be described as a food hall or open market. Think London Borough market if it helps or a food hall in a mall. Yesterday we had tacos which were great and pizza and a few drinks. Google provides individual reviews of each place if that helps you make up your mind. A great option and perfect if you want variety.
A good proportion of tourists and its close to so many hotels so what can you expect but definitely a local hangout as well. They come around at 22:30 and remind you they shut at 23:00, which is reasonable. Bars stay open until 23:00.
Really accessible by bus route. Parking can be found on side streets take heed of the tow signs though. Large doors and one level so disabled access. Toilets on...
