Devito's Pizza? More like Devito's Disappointment You've officially been replaced by a new pizza joint in the next block. This establishment actually cares about getting orders right and treating customers respectfully. As a long-time customer and neighbor, I'm sad to say that my recent experiences have been nothing short of a pizza nightmare. Imagine eagerly placing an order online for your favorite pizza, only to receive a sad excuse for a pizza missing half the advertised ingredients! And don't even bother reaching out for help—their customer service is like a black hole, where your complaints vanish into thin air, never to be acknowledged. This has happened more than a few times. But wait, there's more! When I finally managed to speak to an employee about my missing toppings, I was met with eye rolls and dismissive remarks. Apparently, it's my fault their online ordering system can't get it together. The same goes for drinks - even if you pay, you never know if you will get your drink! Seeing the reviews, I understand I haven't been the only one. Well, Devito's, congrats on losing a loyal customer. PS. If your employees are so tired and rude, maybe they need a vacation. Or you just need...
Read moreDevitos is the miracle worker of Laugevegur, especially if you're a foreigner with a stomach that is still on Eastern Standard Time.
I was so surprised that on one of the busiest streets in Reykjavik, the kitchens for most of the bars and restaurants close very early. After a long day outside of the city, my friends and I walked about 10 blocks down Laugavegur to find that all of the kitchens and restaurants had just closed. This was around 10:30-11pm on a Thursday night. Thankfully, Devitos had saved us once before that week and they saved us again that night.
They are open till 2am, and have I forgotten to mention that the pizza is actually really good?! It's not like you are settling for mediocre pizza. There is a wide variety of toppings to choose from and to be able to feed 3 people in Reykjavik for under 4.000 kr is a miracle in itself. I also love all the seasonings they put out for you to enjoy on your pizza. It is unique and such a great idea.
I highly recommend Devitos, whether you are stopping by for lunch or strolling in at 1am looking for a...
Read moreDuring Winter season there wasn't many restaurants and places opened late. Many close as early as 6-8pm due to the limited daylight hours I suppose. Extra Stars for DeVito's since it was opened really late and we were able to get something to eat without having to cook. The pizza was standard and cooked fresh. I didn't like that the toppings/cheese seemed to lay on top of the crust and came off when you took that first bite, maybe it was the sauce that was too thin. Waited til it cooled down a little and didn't have too much trouble then. I did like that they had a good variety of side seasonings to go on top of the pizza which made it even better. Late nights in Reykjavik and hungry? Hit up Devitos at...
