Visited this Seaside Heritage hotel 2 weeks back along with my family. We booked for 2 Deluxe rooms and we got it for a reasonable price from Agoda.com. π We chose this hotel, because of the nearness to the beach. Reached there by 12.30pm. We were welcomed by the security guard, who was very helpful and cheerful. While booking, we had given a request to alot a room in ground floor for our parents. The same was provided to us, without asking again. We got a wonderful room with garden view for themβ€ thanks for the proactive service.. The other room was upstairs.. π Upon reaching the rooms, we all were received with a nice cool welcome drink. Both the rooms were quite spacious and beautiful indeed. The one we got in was having a cemetery view, which was quite unexpected. But we really liked it. π A nice old dutch bungalow with a beachside and a spooky cemetery. Spine chilling experience indeed..
This heritage hotel buildings were actually a dutch chapel and an orphanage in olden days. The dutch cemetery is just adjacent to the building.π The wooden stairs, interiors, wooden ceilings and the majestic beachside balcony all together gives a wonderful vintage experience. We have to book for food atleast 2 hrs prior. Since a lot of cafes and restaurants from Fort Kochi were already in our bucket list, we decided to have lunch and dinner from outside.
Rooms were quite spacious with all essential amenities. A mini fridge, table lamp, a small digital locker, wardrobes, almirahs, kettle, teabags etc. A special room freshner/potpourri was kept in the room which really gave a soothing effect. Beds were very cozy, ACs were working perfect. Toilets were very clean and toiletries were also provided. π There is a beautiful swimming pool with a lush green garden.. π€½ββοΈπ my kid really liked the pool and we spent some quality time here. The staff were very cooperative and helpful. Bicycles are available here, which can be hired at an affordable rate. π΄
Coming to the negatives - Car parking space is limited for 2-3 cars. But thats not an issue, as you can park the car outside the premises in the Dutch cemetary road. There are no televisions in rooms. We had our breakfast from the restaurant, which was quite disappointing. We ordered dosas for 4 of us. It was too small, not tasty, didnt feel like well cooked and was really expensive too. βΉοΈ the only thing they should improve is their food quality. π
For people visiting this place, i would advise to have food from other cafes. A lot of food options and a wide range of cafes are available at a walkable distance. Go and explore the tastes of Kochi. Apart from that, everything went fine and we had a wonderful time here.. Giving a 5 star for this heritage hotel. Will surely visit this place again in...
Β Β Β Read moreMe and my husband stayed there for a night. We had booked deluxe room with garden view through make my trip. What we got was a cemetery view room. The complimentary drink mentioned in the brochure, the toiletries like hair dryer shaving kit and several others were missing. Dental kit consisted of only one brush for two persons. The rooms need maintenance, especially doors cupboards ,electrical equipments. The fan was not working properly and when asked about it, they replied since there is AC,they don't give importance to fan, which seemed a silly childish answer for a big hotel like amritara. Though they offered to change the room if we wished, such response seemed unprofessional. The bathroom exhaust was running mechanically but was not serving the purpose. Coming to the food, our dinner was prebooked and breakfast complimentary. The chicken ordered was undercooked. And when we tried to order more that wasn't possible. Plus the mosquitoes prevent you from enjoying the ambience. For breakfast, traditional options were limited, they serve only a single traditional breakfast everyday and you can't choose from the menu they show you. They show the menu as a formality. So we ordered continental breakfast which seemed better than dinner. The cleanliness, the hospitality, the services are all good. Rooms are also large and spacious, was better than we expected. The resort staff are all polite. They respond very promptly. But stop looting people by showing unrealistic options in your brochure. Our stay really cost around 5200,but it was worth only some 2-3k. I recommend not to get drawn towards this site seeing the various promises they give in the brochure. Don't expect anything from their advertisement and you will enjoy your stay. The hotel garden, overall dutch style, wooden flooring all are good. But again their site details needs to be revised. And please mention cemetery view in your site. Don't give high expectations to the customers. The resort ambience is superb and that will draw...
Β Β Β Read moreAfter a lot of research we ended up booking this place. This review is based on my previous travel experiences to other hotels/resorts and having a tad bit of experience in being a hotelier. As the name mentions it's only heritage that you can expect our of this place. It's not worth the money being paid according to me. There was just the room at a tarrif of 3600. To start off with, you don't get a parking spot you'd probably have to park your car outdoors on the road if you don't reach first to the hotel on the date of check-in. Then comes the room a huge a bit spooky kinda room there with two single beds joined together. No water bottle, No television sets as mentioned in third party apps or even in their webpage. Even after asking for it we were told that the place didn't have rooms with a TV. Rooms are pretty close which makes us hear things from the other room or outdoors. The tarrif included breakfast with was 600 INR. Breakfast option we got for Puttu, egg curry, choice of bread and eggs and finally a fruit juice all this worth 300 per person. There's a small pool which is accessible by guests but not big enough for a full house. Restaurant is pretty costly compared to the competitors. Wifi isn't stable as well there are disconnects very often though the router was right at the door. All that said and done if heritage is your only take go for it. Also ask yourselves if the money paid is worth just to get a nights sleep on a heritage bed. Staffs were decent especially the stewards. Front desk was pretty inhospitable except for this one lady during the day there's even a language barrier if you don't understand or talk basic Malyalam. Pros: clean, bathrooms good toiletries, friendly watchman and picturesque construction. Don't be wooed by the enormous amount of positive reviews if you would get your...
