The Hot Spot Restaurant — Restaurant in Kerala

We visited Hotspot Restaurant Fort Kochi with 8 colleagues to celebrate a birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.

We ordered:

Half Alfam (for 2)

Full Mutton Mandhi (for 4)

Half Beef Mandhi (for 2)

The Alfam was extremely dry and almost burnt, making it nearly inedible. The Mutton Mandhi, though labeled as a full portion for 4, was only enough for 2 people — this was a surprise and should have been communicated clearly. The Beef Mandhi was essentially the same dish as the mutton version, with only the meat swapped — no variation in flavor or presentation.

We were charged ₹3,000+ GST, which felt overpriced for the quality and quantity served. Additionally, staff were not communicative or helpful when it came to explaining portion sizes or dishes.

Tried the Shahi Mandi at the new Hotspot Restaurant by the beach, and it truly exceeded my expectations! The first thing that caught my attention was the beautiful beachview ambience – peaceful, breezy, and perfect for a relaxing meal.

Coming to the food, the Shahi Mandi was rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The rice was aromatic, the meat tender and juicy, and the spices were balanced just right. It tasted fresh and authentic – a real treat for mandi lovers!

We tried their Mandhi and puddings. The Mandhi was just average — it felt more like a North Indian biryani, but still acceptable. The ambience was quite appealing and gave a cool vibe. However, we wouldn’t recommend coming here for Mandhi; instead, try their continental cuisine.

The service was good, but the washroom setup was a letdown. It didn’t match the overall ambience of the restaurant, and the arrangements around the wash area felt unprofessional and out of place.
