Read moreDear Mr. Sharma,||I had come to celebrate my birthday which was a special one. I was upgraded to Taj Palace club room whereas a Apollo Suite at Towers was confirmed over an email. Upon raising the same before check in, the GRE was not aware and said not possible as the Suites are sold out but within seconds I was told that the Suite can be provided with an additional charge of Rs. 25,000 + taxes (Was wondering how come within seconds the statement can be changed?). Later, upon asking for the GRE Manager and sharing my concern, I was asked to wait to check the same and was informed at 19:30 hrs that the I will be moved to the Towers (Suite room). Had asked for mocktail and startes to be served in my room as I could not go to the Lounge for His Team which was confirmed to me but never served then eventually had to order tea and cookies. Was given just a rose instead a bouquet which was confirmed too. ||Regarding check out, initially upon request I was given a late check out until 2 pm as the occupancy was full being a weekend. Later, upon highlighting the matter to the DM, I was given a late check out until 4pm as my son wanted to go for the cup cake activity scheduled from 3-5pm. A few minutes later (ie. Around 1:30-2pm) I got a call that I will be provided a late check out until 6pm and Hi Tea at Sea lounge. Trust me, this was not at all enjoyable as I was under the assumption of checking out at 2 pm and was preparing accordingly. ||The service at Sea Lounge was just Ok. I wanted to be seated by the sea and both the visits I had to keep an eye on the table to get vacant inspite of informing the guys at the Longe. At first visit, the table by the sea had got vacant and no one paid attention and was occupied by other guys who had not even requested. Lastly, I was charged for the Hi Tea on 19th September without my notice which was complimentary but was later waived off when highlighted while check out. Not acceptable!||Regarding breakfast, I had being to the Souk and were delayed though, had requested the operator to hold for 15 mins and was informed being a weekend, it will extend until 11am. Upon reaching the restaurant, the hostess / Manager(not sure) informed that the buffet is shutting and we requested for 10 mins. The moment we started serving ourselves, she started telling the guys to remove the buffet. Is this the service that Taj provides? Have stayed in other 5 star properties too but never came across such an attitude of staff. ||Honestly, I did not enjoy my birthday at all as expected. It seemed that I was just moving around with my child from one place to another. I had checked in around 4pm and was like I had come only to touch the property. ||Upon asking for a compensation, the FO Manager - Mr. Rahul denied saying that a late check out has been provided already which had no meaning to me. ||Sorry to say but the experience I had was not expected from Taj!!
