Came back here after a delightful stay about a decade ago in the Palace Wing. It seems that Taj has fallen from grace since then. I completely swore off the Taj brand after a terrible experience at one of their Delhi properties but have given them a second chance only because of the hospitality I received the last time I stayed here. I’ll have to rethink staying with them again henceforth. The atmosphere here now is generally unwelcoming and that of paranoia. The warmth of the staff which used to be in abundance is largely absent and the general attitude of everyone is quite cold, as if they are doing you a huge favour by letting you stay here. The security staff at the entrance treat every guest with suspicion. While the catastrophe this property had to deal with is understandable, the staff could definitely use some training on how not to look at every guest as a potential threat. The experience doesn’t get any better after you walk past security. The general attitude of the staff, everyone from the front desk to the bell desk to the restaurant is quite nonchalant and lacking courtesy. Staff here previously made you feel very welcoming and the hospitality was unmatched. Not anymore. They do not allow outside food to be brought in. So if you travel half way across the country or the world and would like to enjoy some local food in the comfort of your room, or fancy something that you like in a local cloud kitchen whose only option is delivery, you don't get to enjoy any of it on your vacation. Their excuse is that it is a security issue "because of the attacks". Nevermind the fact that they scan everything you bring in anyway. When asked about the logic, all you receive is a curt "that's our policy". It feels like you've walked into a jail rather than a luxury hotel. I appreciate the fact that they take guest security seriously but there needs to be a balance. Other properties which were affected do not make you feel unwanted in their premises. The state of the rooms and bathrooms is also in disarray as is evident in the pictures. After paying a premium for a room, you expect a certain level of class, comfort and commitment from a brand like Taj. But the pictures here show otherwise. There are stains everywhere, indicating that no attention is given to sanitation and the room is falling apart with peeling wallpaper in the toilet, torn bed runners and non-functioning lights. The mesh in the balcony is extremely dirty and just plain disgusting! Overall, a terribly disappointing stay.

Stayed in a deluxe room (higher floor) with a sea view, the view was everything I’d hoped for however the room itself felt tired, small scuffs and scratches on furniture, paint starting to look tired. Cleaning staff were very good and efficient, though a turn down service in the evening was hit and miss if it would happen or not. Room service was on par with expectation, food usually under 40 minutes. Breakfast buffet has great variety, the food quality was good and wait staff are happy to bring things over for you. Other hotel restaurants felt like profit machines, Masala Craft served good food at high prices, better quality could be had at other hotels and restaurants under 10 minutes walk away. Sea Dragon is of better quality however still overpriced compared to what is available nearby. The Sea Lounge for afternoon tea is a treat, however they attempted to seat us in a spare room rather than the primary room, as an experience forward event the spare room with lacking devour and ambience is unacceptable. The staff did a poor job at explaining the different options and menus. The buffet had a very wide variety, however most of the dessert options looked great but were lacking in flavour. The pool shared with the palace is beautiful, the pool staff do there best to get people seated but there are a very small number of lounges making it a game of chance if you can get a spot. Poolside drinks are offered from the bar however there are no food options available at all by the pool. The Jiva spa was a great experience, from the moment of entry to the end of a treatment the focus is on luxury and relaxation, a 120 minute deep tissue massage flew by and the masseuse was very talented. Concierge staff were very helpful in locating items left at the airport, even going as far as to arrange there delivery without any additional service charge. We booked a number of tours through the hotel which were all of exceptional quality, the only let down being a mix up in days resulting in us getting a 5am wake up call on the wrong day. Overall the Taj is an experience one should have and I would recommend to friends for a first time stay.

Overlooking the Arabian Sea, this high-end hotel is 3.3 km from Bandra train station and 7.8 km from the Bandra Kurla Complex business center. Traditional rooms with sea views feature Wi-Fi, desks, and tea and coffeemaking facilities. Club-level rooms and suites provide butler service and access to a lounge with free breakfast and evening cocktails. Plush suites add separate living rooms, and some offer whirlpool tubs. Dining options include Indian, Chinese and Italian restaurants, as well as a sophisticated lobby lounge. There's also an outdoor pool, a hot tub, a spa and a fitness center, plus a 24-hour business center and 4 meeting rooms. Check-in time: 2:00 PM Check-out time: 12:00 PM We accept American Express, Diner's Club, Master Card, Visa, JCB International Pets are not allowed. Ome of the best hotels i have visited till now. Top class security, top class service and food. I went there for my one day training and the stay there was so comfortable. Staffs were super friends. Evening songs in the lobby was too god. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Price is on higher side but worth every penny. Brilliant ambience ... Ball room is nice and spacious.. food is delicious . Dal makhni is outstanding. Location of the hotel is prime and sea facing. Staff is courteous and well mannered. Washrooms are super clean and well maintained. Probably one of Mumbai's best Hotels.... The view and breeze is worth every penny... The on-ground staff are very kind and offer services beyond expectations... They are very kind and cordial with senior citizens and are very understanding... The lower level conference hall is huge and can easily accommodate 200 guests... Premises are spic and span as expected and Valet service is also available for no extra charges... Would definitely recommend it
