Despite having visited this Cafe in the afternoon on a weekday, the energy there was vibrant and busy like that on a Sunday morning. The moment we entered the cafe our eyes went up on the ceiling which was a refreshing surprise for it was a glass dome with trees above. We chose not to venture to the seats inside (they were occupied) and instead we sat right by the counter. After spending a few minutes unable to decide on what to get, we requested for suggestions. The cordial staff helped us to a couple of their bestsellers. (From left in the picture) Strawberry Croissant Cruffin with vanilla custard Chocolate Danish
The Strawberry Croissant was my first ever Croissant. Having read and heard a lot about the texture of croissants in general, the moment I had the Croissant, I definitely knew the texture was on point. But my sweet tooth couldn't allow me to fully enjoy the filling of this croissants...the strawberries weren't sweet and the cream cheese was simply bland. The entire thing tasted extremely buttery. Not my taste for sure but it looked too good not to give a shot.
But then to our rescue came the Cruffin with Vanilla Custard. It is a MUST HAVE. 10/10. The texture was just how soft it should be and the entire thing was covered in sugar. The vanilla custard filling was adequately sweet, a little cold from the refrigeration and complemented the shell perfectly. The craziest part to me was how it was not made of chocolate. It can get messy to eat but that's what makes it fun. From figuring out how to eat it without looking like a two-year-old to actually having the first bite and falling in love with this non-chocolatey hybrid of muffins and croissants, this is definitely something I'd travel all the way to colaba to eat over and over again and recommend to all my nearest and dearest. YOU CANNOT MISS THIS!!!
Then finally our chocolate craving was met with the Chocolate Danish we ordered. It was definitely a great choice. The outer shell is a little harder than that of the other two and it made perfect sense considering the delightful chocolate-loaded center. The chocolate tasted a little burnt even though overall it tasted really good and only added to the flavor.
This Cafe was the perfect place to get introduced to all these delicious new sweets and breads. A lot of these are sold as handmade and one can really make it out in the final delicacy they consume. Looking forward to re-visiting and trying a different range of items. DON'T MISS THE VANILLA...
Read moreI've been super excited to visit this place. Everything from their name to their packaging has always had my heart!
I recently had been up to Colaba for some work and I noticed I'm just a few hundred metres from it! So it was an easy decision for me and my friends!
As you enter, you have the bakery to the left and the wall of their beautiful packaging behind the counter is just oufffffđ. You'll immediately notice the delicious looking food in the counters and each one with its own unique visual appeal!
We didn't eat from the all day menu as we just wanted to grab a quick bite! We ordered way more than we could handle out of sheer excitement of the options in the bakery!
We ordered the Almond Croissant, Korean Cream Cheese Bun, Vanilla Custard Cruffin and lastly the Cinnamon Roll with Cream Cheese. As you can see the rating for the food is slightly lower because it didn't completely match the visual impact fully.
In my opinion, the rating from best to least favourite would be as follows,
The Almond Croissant, a warm yummy heavenly bite
The Korean Cream Cheese Bun(maybe a little too much buttery goodness) Vanilla Custard Cruffin is visually stunning and the custard is also not too sweet
And lastly the Cinnamon Roll with Cream Cheese which sadly had nothing exciting to offer
Out of the drinks we ordered, the one I ordered was the Cold Brew Banana Smoothie, I would not recommend it.
Overall, the cafe is beautiful, aesthetic and creative! The food is great and I believe it provides value for money!
*I noticed most of the 5 star ratings and reviews are for the dining menu, so I'll definitely be back to try it! I feel it'll make me want to update the food rating to a full 5 star rating after that! This was just based on the bakery items and just a...
Read moreMag St. Cafe is a cozy cafe in Colaba, Mumbai, that serves up a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. I recently visited the cafe with family and we tried the following dishes:
Egg and bacon danish: This was a delicious and filling pastry. The danish was flaky and buttery, and the egg and bacon filling was cooked perfectly.
Tres leche: This was a decadent and creamy cake. The cake was soaked in three different types of milk, once it was over it made us order more
Cream cheese cruffin: This was a unique and delicious pastry. The cruffin was a cross between a croissant and a muffin, and it was filled with cream cheese and sugar. [Image of Cream cheese cruffin Mag St cafe] Vanilla custard cruffin: This was another delicious pastry. The cruffin was filled with vanilla custard, and it was topped with a dusting of powdered sugar.
Fajita chicken pizza: This was a flavorful and filling pizza. The pizza was topped with chicken, onions, peppers, and cheese, and it was cooked to perfection.
Beef pho: This was a hearty and flavorful soup. The soup was made with beef broth, rice noodles, and a variety of herbs and spices.
Onion rings: These were crispy and flavorful onion rings. The onion rings were coated in a light batter, and they were fried to perfection.
