My experience was not as great as expected. I Visited Hibiscus Urban Nomads from 26-29 Jan 23. The stay and experience was Average . Its a Hostel for bag packers , will not recommended for family. Rooms were clean when we arrived , water was provided , they had a café upstairs but the staff was very slow in preparing and delivering food orders , when asked they said less staff issues. Tables in the café were not cleaned after serve, water had to be asked multiple times, tissues were not placed . The tea served in the stay was tasty. AC in our room only had cooling feature , no room heater provided(as we visited during winters) , electric kettle for water was dirty in the room. The blanket provided was clean. The time we visited the road leading to the stay was not accessible due to asphalting, and no auto rikshaw, cab wanted to go to the palace as the lanes are pretty narrow and jam most of the times. Plus if you get a autorickshaw, they charge min 100 bucks even for a distance of <2kms, that's the standard rate there. We had to pull luggage for around 2kms from main road to reach the stay. The food was pricey in the stay was pricey for the quantity and quality served. Rooms are decent spacious, the room we stayed was said to overlook the mountains and lake pichola , but as its located in a crowded area, there were properties everywhere, not much of a view it was. You will get bikes on rent nearby the stay within walkable distance for city visits on per day basis. On the plus side, it was in walkable distance to lake pichola , many restaurants and food outlets are nearby , but mostly needs to be covered on foot.

We booked this hotel online and got a great deal in off season. We were travelling in a large group and booked 3 rooms. All the rooms were impeccable. Very clean and hygenic. We stayed for 5 nights with breakfast included option. It was a great location. Tucked away in a peaceful corner of Ambrai Ghat. All the great cafes and facilities were at a walkable distance. The staff was very helpful with all our request. I would have given it a 5 star or even a 4.5. The food could be a bit better. For someone who can't eat eggs. there wasn't a lot of options for breakfast. We also ordered biryani and dal, subzi on one of the days which was alright. They could add a bit more options in the breakfast menu.

It's a beautiful property situated in the old city, though the surroundings and locality didn't look so appealing, the property itself was pretty clean and awesome inside, it is at a walking distance from Ambrai ghat. Rooms didn't have a great view but lake view can be seen while having great breakfast on the rooftop. Staff was innocent and friendly. Rooms are small, cozy and clean, feels good to come back to the room after a tiring day of Udaipur sight seeing. It can be a peaceful place to stay if you're a family or a couple, or you could also vibe in the evening with a group of friends there ; )

HIbiscus hotel Udaipur.

Nice decoration old style hotel in the internet photos. Big rooms and nice hanging carpets. AC old and noisy and TV didnt work in our room. Some humid wall paint and mosquitos at night (old windows are only painted leaving big gaps where mosquitoes come in all night, no mosquito net in windows). A litle appart from the main tourist area surounded by muslim mosquee and dark streets at night. A litle garden and terrace offers calm and an always empty restaurant with dirty tablets and dirties kithchen and cooker. My wife get stomach ill after a couple of days here. The staff is unprofesional and they ramdomly handle de reserves so you can find that you room is given away when arriving to the hotel or even worse: they try to force you away from the hotel and move you to a shity horrible pension on the back. Specially the owner is an uneducated and arrogant person only concern about money. The price given at the hotel is half the price you can book in internet, but you risk yourself in the street without prior advice when the expect people coming by internet for double price, even when half the hotel remains empty. For half price (one thousand double room) is worthy place if you dont mind to pack next morning as the owner childness wake up. For internet price (over two thousand) you find much better places to stay in Udaipur, for three thousand some luxurious places with swiming pool. The worst is to come back at night in a dark dirty streets in a small poor neighbourhood. Locals are nice but the darkness can attract outsiders robbers in a perfect spot. 5 am the mosquee will noisily wake you up a 50m far. No views of the lake but a 100m walk will lead you to a stinky dock and 300m to a lovely...
