My trip to the 'City of Lakes' was amazing just because my stay at the boutique hotel was nestled right in the heart of Udaipur- Lake Pichola. It’s prime location amidst the city's rich heritage and history is it’s USP. This Hotel is centrally located with most of monuments at a walking distance – Jagdish temple, Gangour Ghat, Bagore ki Haveli, City Palace. It is certainly one of the best budget hotels to stay in a room with a lake view. Although I had a short but great stay, I highly recommend this hotel for its courteous staff and excellent amenities . The moment I entered , I noticed beautiful lobby with intricate work. It was certainly an art. It was aesthetically pleasing. This hotel has a rooftop restaurant – Shamiana and most of the rooms are lake facing. The room was spacious and well maintained. Bed was comfortable. Adequate power plugs were provided. The view of the lake from the room was spectacular. Enchanting views of the morning from the terrace or from my room window , with the golden dazzling sun and the temple bells of morning rituals across the Gangour ghat , or be it birds playing around is just mesmerizing . I spent my 2hours in early morning time –just by gazing around this view. It’s serene and peaceful. Waking upto Lake Pichola sunrise is certainly one of the best experience. In evening, the view of boats passing along, the splendid night view of Bagore ki Haveli , fancy lights of City Palace-it’s amazing. Coming to the food, I had lavish breakfast at the rooftop restaurant- Shamiana. I relished aloo poori, paranthas, omelette-with a splendid view of lake-definitely one of the best experience of breakfast with a view. I also had lunch here and I must say, I had delicious experience- be it tamatar sev, gatta ki sabzi or kadhi- each and every dish was full of flavors. Their veg biryani was another amazing dish which had great spices. One should definitely plan a dinner here- the lights are amazing plus the view of heritage monuments is fantastic. Ending my review here by summing up my experience-
This is one of the hotel located on Lake Pichola with magnificent lake side view from the window and I admit one must see sunrise from the window on one day and try sitting in the specially curated lounge at the ground floor early in the morning to experience the lake view. This hotel is is very near to the Ambrai Ghat from where we have very great morning(after 7AM) and evening(ensure you reach before 9 PM) view of the Lake Pichola. Roof top restaurant is having really great morning and night views. This rooftop restaurant is good for morning breakfast and can have more options. Although for dinner I preferred Upre Restaurant which is just next to this premises towards Ambrai lake. NOT having LIFT was not an issue for us but surely help for elderly people and considering such high-end pricing. Staff is quite helpful and there is chance to improve room-service. NO PARKING available for this hotel but there are paid parking sites near the hotel area and guest houses for driver/chauffer are available at reasonable rates in the nearby area(so driver can have rest in night and get fresh in morning). Since the hotel is in OLD city it is evident that you need to take little risk for vehicles like Innova which needs to be specially managed on such narrow lanes...but locals here are quite used to that and help in managing the blockage if any. Great: Overall it was pleasant stay and city tourist places are on walking distance(10 minutes) and quite accessible like Jagadish Temple and City Palace. Lake view from the room Roof-top views in morning and night is pleasnt. Suggestions: Room service can be improved, especially laundry cleaning Roof-top can accommodate small toys for children Hotel management at reception can promote Ambrai ghat for your customers and suggest timings accordingly which will give mesmerizing overall experience / stay in Udaipur. Pro-active assistance in off-loading and loading luggage before the vehicle arrives would be really appreciated like one for the staff managing the traffic and other be at the hotel entrance for...

For those coming by car, you'll have to park your vehicle in a paid public car parking space ad hike or take a rickshaw to the hotel.
No car can really enter the area unless you have help. The hotel doesn't have any car parking space. Despite of this, the property deserves 5 stars.
The lane that lead up to the hotel are narrow but safe and well lit. Most of the posh hotels are nearby but this one has the best view, hands down.
November 2021: With much excitement we booked Hotel Sarovar on Pichola for a second time and boy were we disappointed.
Breakfast: Slow and Bad. Avoid their breakfast at all costs now. Although breakfast starts at 7:30, nothing is prepared till 8:30 even they have a pretty limited spread of 2 vegetarian options and 1 egg. This followed on all 5 days of our stay. And by the look of it we weren't alone but others suffered a similar fate.
Upma: Huge chunk of veggies make this unsuitable and bland. Chutney: (pic included) This took so much time on Day 2 that we thought they were importing this from down south. And when it arrived it was just freshly ground coconut.
Staff at the Buffet: One eager beaver kept checking our hotel rooms thrice. I can understand if you have a lot of guests this might happen but I'd appreciate if the person managing this kept notes instead of asking again and again while we're having breakfast.
Room Service: Slow and downright pathetic. Everything we called for came after ringing them 3 times. I hate calling people or pester them for service because it's rude but I had to call and register reminders every 15 minutes.
They didn't change the bathroom towels for two days, nor was the trash cleared, floor towel was just flipped to make it look like it has been replaced and the cups weren't...
