GAYATRI RETREAT VILLA & RESTO — Hotel in Pulau Bali

The place is overall very pretty and clean. They provide everything one might need in the bathroom except hairdryer. Stuff was nice and friendly. But kitchen at this place was a bit random. It was not bad but despite ordering the same for breakfast every morning (3 days), everytime it was a bit different. One day we got juice, another we got bread with marmalade, other they we did not get fried banana. Sometimes there was plenty of avocado on the toast other just thin layer. For dinner we received a dish that had most ingredients replaced comparing to the description in the menu. On the positive side, when asked about that they apologized and offered another dish. We ate at the restaurant. The food was completely overpriced and just ridiculous. The proportions weren’t even enough to feed a child. We order spring rolls and asked the waiter how many comes on the plate she clearly told us there were four, the food came and there were two small spring rolls just cut in half to make four pieces. We also ordered the chicken and shrimp mi goreng the chicken can separately on the skewers and we’re only 4cm long and same with the shrimp. Absolutely the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to and certainly will not be going again, do not recommend to anyone. It's a hidden gem in Ubud that has both of two worlds: close to the city center and nature's peace. After being in the city, especially touristic areas, it was great to be back in this oasis. Calming, bordering a rice field. With a nice pool that has very clear water & many beautiful jungle like plants. Also there is a huge yoga barn for yoggies. The food is great, the staff is warm, welcoming and genuinely carrying & very professional. The room is made out of wood with modern style touches and appliances, and it feels so Bali!
