This is a basic tourist cafe where they overcharge you for average food and surprisingly rude service. I get it, they probably deal with rude tourists because it is a western cafe but I am not one of them, I am overly kind to make up for cold or rude foreigner behavior.
I kept passing by this place as I live nearby. I always wanted to come check it out. The concept is good, everything is a la carte for 79k for 3 items or 5 items for 109k. The food is fine and the coffee is average and there are many extra hidden charges which makes this place sneakily very over priced.
You can get much better food at Suka if you want brunch vibes for much cheaper and you can get better coffee at Seniman right down the road. I wasn’t going to write an honest review because I love Bali and I want everyone to succeed here but after they messed up my order (totally understandable) they treated me poorly and ignored me after I simply said I order scrambled egg and not sliced avocado.
I was clear and respectful with my order, the server did not confirm it which is usually what they do, it came incorrect. I shared respectfully that there was a mistake and the server came out saying I was wrong. If I was, I would have been apologetic but I was like no, I know what I ordered and she walked off. Another item was missing butter and jam for the barely toasted sourdough which I ordered initially and it seemed like an eye-rolling hassle to bring a side of butter. Then I was ignored for my remaining 45 minutes multiple times trying to buy another coffee, get the plate cleared so I could do a little journaling, and getting the bill. Nobody checked in and I ended up packing up and leaving after paying. I wanted to stay and have another coffee and even potentially order more food. This meant I left without giving the restaurant more money, I was nothing but kind. It’s fine but if management is reading, I am a neighbour and I won’t be back.
For the tourists reading this is a great place to take pictures to post on your IG if you want a better experience there are many other cafes that are cheaper, with higher quality food. Suka, Warung BintangBali, Seniman, Sala...

The place seems to be inspired by Canggu’s well established Copenhagen breakfast spot but it does not live up to the same standards.
Loads of staff, unbelievably slow service: we waited 1 hour for our food. This is just an unacceptable for any restaurant. There are at least 8 people behind the counter working here, can’t justify the slowness (there were maybe 4-5 other tables, no huge crowds)
Less than mediocre food: the sourdough felt like 3 day old dry bread - just mediocre at best. After waiting 1 hour we were so annoyed that we just ate it and left, didn’t want to spend any more time there
Biased reviews: I’m surprised this place gets a 4.8 stars. They offer you free coffee if you write a review about the place. The rating is likely biased by this
Lovely people, Bad management: people in Bali are the loveliest, if you train them well they will provide an amazing service. As the owner, you should train your staff and create a better system for them. The place isn’t going to run itself
I don’t usually write bad reviews, but this experience compelled me to do so. We’ve eaten at over 100 places over Bali from the smallest Warungs to similar ‘high-end’ western eateries and Amsterdam was the most disappointing one.
As the owner, you should train your team for better service and food, as it’s not their fault the system doesn’t work, likely they haven’t been trained well. They try their best to service the guests.
You guys need to clean up shop to compete with the rest of Bali’s food scene. The free coffee reviews will dry up...
Read moreThis restaurant is a fake. If you love food and good quality don’t choose this place. Don’t trust positive reviews (reviews are bought + restaurant offers free coffee for positive reviews). About the food - it is cheap food prepared with low quality ingredients. Smoked salmon - the cheapest salmon from the market, which does not smell very good Tartar sauce - sauce from the market! It smells chemical + is terrible in taste bread - dry, stale meatballs - you can only smell the salt, ready-made tomato sauce Tuna - cheap tuna from water with sugar - without any spices or additives Toast - prepared from cheap bad toasted bread + cheapest plastic cheese
There are very many quality places and breakfast places in Bali offering high quality of all ingredients. It is worth knowing that the Amsterdam restaurant is a copied 1:1 concept from the popular Copn restaurant. This is very funny - because the menu is almost identical. The difference is big - Copn offers high quality ingredients and home made recipes + Cop**n has its own Scandinavian bakery. Amsterdam offers low quality ingredients from the market without any taste. Very strange to copy so 1:1 (the menu & concept really is identical).
The place has very loud music and you have to wait 45 minutes to...
