Avoid this place like the plague. (who knows, maybe you can catch that here too😁). I know the price is very cheap but they don't provide even the minimum of what they promise. Air conditioning is switched off. When on it doesn't work. Even the fan works sporadically and doesn't move. The lights in the sleeping cubicles are either broken or nonexistent with electricity cables just sticking out of the wall. No hot water in the shower. I was in the room when the "cleaning lady" was "working". Her idea of cleaning the bathroom was to flush the toilet. I then had to ask her for toilet paper as none was provided and she gave me a look as though I had inconvenienced her enormously for asking. She did not empty the full bin for toilet paper and nothing else was cleaned in the toilet. No one dared turn on the bathroom light in the night due to the REALLY loud noise coming from the ventilation fan. REALLY, REALLY loud. The "receptionist" is nonexistent and only turned up to check me in after I disturbed the men playing cards in the rooms next door to ask them to call someone. I've seen the really stupid comments by LAETI and I don't expect the world from a cheap budget hostel but, at least, get the BASICS right. Oh, and btw, I paid €3 a night for a hostel in Thailand and it had a SWIMMING POOL!!!!!! So amazing things are possible for a low budget.
NO EFFORT TO RUN THIS PLACE WELL AT ALL.
I hope that this review will shock the owners into improving their hostel as it is in a great location in the market and has a lot of potential for being a really nice place to stay. But at the...
Read moreGood location, right in centre of Ubud. The little enclosed bunks are good and you can fit a lot of your stuff in there. There's hot water. Unfortunately this is the only good thing about this hostel. |Toilet door broken, no locks on toilet or shower door, no keys for lockers and no way to padlock them. Luckily I don't own anything valuable. Shower is a hose because the top has come off and couldn't be reattatched. The light in my friends bunk was broken, in both bunks the plug sockets were loose. |I could cope with all this as it it's cheap, however the entire place is dirty. I'm not a clean freak. Stains on my sheets, didn't see them change the bedding between guests once, or cleaning the rooms. Bins weren't emptied everyday either. Every morning I woke up with bites. I have no been bitten in Bali during the day or night anywhere else, so it was quite concerning. Staff were unhelpful, and sometimes just rude. They spent a lot of time sleeping in the common areas, when other guests wanted to check in I had to wake them up a couple of times. The one who seemed to be the owner was nice, he did most of the work which is probably why he was always sleeping.|You can get much for the se price, don't...
Read moreWe booked on booking.com and arrived to a unhelpful reception.|We paid and also paid a deposit for a locker. Our room was right there with a insecure wooden door, the bunks we were offered looked slept in. I pointed this out and he grumpily got a twig brush and beat the bed (lots of dust produced) I looked rather shocked and asked if they changed the sheets, he did then change the sheets - more dust produced at this point. |My locker door was broken so no point using that. No toilet roll and dirty bathroom. |We decided to find somewhere else and ended up in our own bungalow for the same price, at Rice Paddy Bungalows.|We tried to get our money back but only managed to persuade half, he was quite rude and confused, making us feel uncomfortable.|I would strongly warn against staying there, we have had far better dorm...
