The most welcoming, enjoyable and authentic experience! We loved our hosts Wyan and her husband, from our seemless pickup to our market tour and then back to their home for our traditional cooking experience. We have been comming to Bali for ten years and to find a cooking tour that allowed us to cook what we actually wanted to learn not just a preset menu was fantastic!! The market tour was honest and their was no language barrier, every querrie I had was answered easily. We were spoilt with Balinese sweet treats and coffee when we got back to the Villa. Putu and the Subianthara family were the perfect hosts for our local cuisine cooking class outside of Ubud. Their generosity and passion were very welcoming and inspiring (not to forget the beautiful view from their outdoor cooking area). We made everything from a hearty chicken choco soup, to mouth-watering corn fritters, to the jaw-dropping chicken sate… YUM! And of course black rice pudding for desert! They were very patient teachers and would let you do most of the preparing and cooking/grilling yourself which made it all the more enjoyable of an experience. This was a big highlight from our trip to Bali and we would highly recommend this to anyone remotely interested in cooking but even more so about the normal life...

If you’re considering an authentic local cooking class in Ubud, definitely book this one. Putu and her family are warm, welcoming, and incredibly hospitable as hosts. We were a group of 6 looking for a lunchtime class. We were picked up from our hotel around 10:00am and back home by 2:30pm. During that time, we learned so much about local life and cooking.
