Sunrise Villa Ubud — Hotel in Pulau Bali

After searching tons of diff. places in Ubud, we made our choice on this villa. Relying on good reviews and ratings. What a dissapointment we've got in fact! Just FYI, i work in a hotel business so i know what im talking about. Cons: Hotel is VERY outdated, simple things that can be done in a matter of five min, are not done. Cleaning was very poor until we pointed out what needs attention. Yes, rooms are very spacious, i wud say huge. Amazing view over the jungle. Big terrace. Breakfast is average, like any other hotels. Nothing much. But enough. And THAT WAS IT! Glasses are not washed. All pics will be attached so people wont think that we are making it up or we are too picky. There is a kettle in the room but no plug in next to it. Or anywhere around. Only in the bathroom. Wifi was VERY BAD. After i asked if it will improve, they brought one router, which helped a lot. Bathroom : dirty, poorly cleaned, there was green moss around tap at the sink, shower head had a filter inside which was all black, apparently with mold. I removed it as its very dangerous to use. shower head was poorly sprinkling the water as its all blocked with water stone. I scrubbed it by myself, so we cud take a proper shower. It took me only 5min to do it!!! Question -why it was NOT done by the staff?? Answer-no attention to details and simple careless. Glasses & tea cups were all dirty, had to wash it with soap. Bathtub shud be cleaned with chlorine. Toilet seat is all with scratched stains. Apparently there is an ants nest cos Lots of them were inside the bathroom. Everyday we get several poops from the geckos, on the floor that we had to clean, right next to our bed & few on the night table. Its disgusting, not even talking about danger for the health! I understand we are in the jungle and its nature. But come on... After the rain (its Nov-Dec time) we discovered that water is dripping from the roof inside bathroom & one of the wardrobes. And the "best"- we found a cockroaches under the pillow. When they mentioned that its their best room, i cudnt believe. We stayed in other villas in Ubud. For lower prices & much better value. We paid $50 a night here. Which is total waste of money. Hotel shud be a place where you wanna come back & relax. We disnt...

I stayed in the hotel for 8 nights. Had a large and lovely room, a big balcony with a day bed and a big bathtub. I was attending a yoga retreat in a center next door so I spent most of my time outside. ||Yes, there were many stairs to my room but for me that was an extra exercise. ||On my first night, I had a gecko visitor that scared my with its noises. She left later on. I found out from my local friends that it was quite normal as I was in the middle of the jungle and plus geckos are harmless. So later I slep peacefully. ||The bed is very comfortable, but the linens are a bit stained. Some furniture is also used and old, but not all. They have many rooms and all of them have a bit different conditions. Everything was very clean everywhere. ||Breakfast included a great fruit salad, yummy juices, but less amazing toast and eggs. ||||The staff is kind and helpful during the day. In the evening and at night, they are unfortunately not there and do not pick up whatsapp messages. I was taken care of by the staff from my yoga center if I needed anything, but otherwise being a first time visitor I would be a bit scared. ||Also there was no hot water twice, but first time it was fixed within an hour and next time I was given access to an empty next door room until the next morning. So that was all sorted. ||Overall, it is a really great place to stay in. It would be great if they could sort out these...

As my overall experince was very far from expectations, I will start with the unpleasent things. The worst part of the room is the bathroom. Although large and spacios, it is very dirty and the walls are covered with dampness. The furniture from the room was very old and there is an specific odour in the entire place. The glasses from the room were so dirty that we were afraid to touch them with our hands, no way to drink anything from them. The canopy is full of dust and stains. There are also some good things about this room. The view is fantastic, the garden and the pool are really nice and the location is very good. There is a good restaurant very close and also a supermarket. It is not very far from the center, we were able to walk everyday to the center and back. As a finish line, I would never stay...
