Communication with the staff at Almarossa prior our stay in September 2024 was excellent. At one stage just prior staying I cancelled due to an unexpected medical event. I had booked via booking.com and they took our payment on 1st September . Our stay was on the 10th September! I was fully refunded our money by booking.com as it was within the cancellation period. I then discovered we could still go on our holiday and contacted Almarossa direct by phone and message and they reorganized the apartment again for our stay. This time we booked directly with Almarossa. Almarossa charged us on our arrival at their facility. A much better deal. They even gave us the choice of two breakfasts for free or a bottle of wine. That had not been offered previously by booking.com. |We stayed 8 nights in a two-bedroom apartment plus a bathroom. The bedroom was large and bed extremely comfortable with two soft pillows each. The kitchen was functional and well equipped except for a breadboard for cutting. A good size fridge. There is a Pam grocery store a few shops down and has great supplies. We were on the second floor facing the street not far from the crossroads and traffic lights. Noise was not a problem for us as Bologna is an active city and noise is a part of that city living. The windows double glazed and had inside shutters. Airconditioning worked well as did the secure Wi-Fi that was fast.|Transport by bus close by and easy to use and purchase a ticket at the Tabacci for €1.50 for 75 mins ticket. We took bus 20 from Irnerio to Villa Spada then bus 58 from Villa Spada to San Luca. Also, many university museums that are free nearby.|On departure they called us a taxi which made it easy to get to the train station as it was raining. Cost €12 for taxi ride.|This was our third stay in Bologna and will certainly...
Read moreWe had a corner apartment. The apartment consists of a bedroom, living room with sofa, tv, a fully equipped kitchen and a table and a bathroom. The apartment was clean, modern and quite spacious. Small and cute internal courtyard. Upon checkin the receptionist was very friendly and communicated well in english. The entrance to hotel is located on a busy main road. Bus stops are very close and convenient to catch. Train station is 15mins by walk and airport is 25/30 mina by taxi. Town center is 15mins by walk aswell. The other part of the hotel is located on a very busy street during the evening, it has loads of bars, street food, gelato and even a cinema. Upon checkout you can leave your luggage in the basement and they also have laundry machines available to use. That being said the hotel is located in a very busy area there is NO soundproofing in the rooms that have windows overlooking the street. You can hear every car stop and every person walking and talking in the street. This is very frustrating and as a light sleeper i was not able to sleep and night. Unfortunately all other rooms were booked so we could not change so we opted to sleep on the sofa bed which was set up free of charge (after a bit of nagging) this was a bit better but you could still hear the cars very clearly as if you are down in the street. The point is, location is good, hotel is clean and modern but there is no soundproofing even internally you can hear people walking in corridor and closing door ended up...
Read moreIf you are looking for a hotel in Bologna, Italy, Almarossa is definitely the place to stay. Despite its small and strange reception and entrance, don't let that deceive you. This hotel has the most amazing rooms compared to any other hotel in the city.
I've stayed in many hotels in Bologna, and I can confidently say that Almarossa is by far the best. The room we got was an apartment-style setup with a spacious kitchen, living room, and bedroom. The ACs in all the rooms and the windows provided a perfect balance of fresh air and sunlight.
What I loved about this hotel was that the kitchen was fully equipped with all the essential supplies such as plates, knives, and forks, making our stay even more comfortable. The service at Almarossa is top-notch. The receptionist was incredibly helpful and even sent us a WhatsApp message to ensure that we had a fantastic stay. She even assisted us in booking a van to take us to the airport early the next morning.
Overall, I highly recommend Almarossa for anyone looking for a fantastic hotel experience in Bologna. The rooms are beyond fantastic, the service is excellent, and the location is ideal. I will undoubtedly stay here again during my next visit to Bologna, and I suggest you...
